Read the sticky at the top of this forum..

But, You can get a Log style turbo manifold from Ebay, For jst about any t3 t4 t3/t4.. for $195 for an internal wastegate and $20 more for external.

Max PSI? With a AFPR, And a good tune, You should be able to run atleast 6psi. Its all in the tuning from there.

Cost? How much can you afford? You could do a $500 junk yard set-up, Or a $2500 HAHN set-up.

Id most def go intercooled. Front mounts are too cheap these days not to.

Difficuly depends on your ability to turn a wrench, Run a sawzall, And plumb and mount the Intercooler. All in all, not TOO hard, But def not something you wanna jump into with minimal knowledge.

Labor time once again depends on your ability to turn a wrench, Run a sawzall, And plum and mount an intercooler. Id give it atleast a weekend to get it all done, Provided you got everything needed to do it.

Where to get a turbo for this application? Junk yard? Garrett? It all depends on how much you wanna spend. You could go for a used beat turbo, and have it rebuilt, Or buy a new one from somewhere online.

Extra mods needed? You'll wana start with atleast an AFPR, Fuel managment, and a nice clutch. MSD IGN box wouldnt be a bad idea neither.
If your wanting to go 6PSI +, Plan on upgrading fuel pump + injectors.

im just a noob, And have NOT boosted a J as of now. However im doing research on it, And from what i understand, this should help you a bit. DONT SKIMP ON IT.

Ok, I know what you mean about an AFPR and a good tune, but your explanation here could be misconceived as being the 'only' thing needed.

what some people use are rising rate fuel pressure regulators, which raise fuel pressure a certain amount per pound increase of boost. They are handy for doing those low boost setups (around the 6 psi mark), but anything past that and your engine is due for a @!#$.

the problem lies with the injectors and the higher pressure required to deliver that extra fuel the RRFPR is asking.

Not to mention the fuel pump.

big problems.

IN MY OPINION, you are better off with some sort of engine management (HPTuners?) or standalone to help you idle larger injectors which WILL be required at any boost setting. (even the low 6lb boost pressure could sky rocket your fuel pressure to clipping your injectors).

just covering a general blanketed setup here, you need to make sure you know what you're doing.

I just wanted to be more clear on fuel.

So even at 6psi, Id need to run an engine managment system?

Here were my plan's, for my first few boosted month's..
4.3l Vortec Fuel pump [Read about it somewhere on here]
AFPR
Stock injector's [This is a No no, even at low boost?]

This is a No-go?

guys do it on here and don't have problems, but the safest way possible is with larger injectors.

clipping those injectors once is reason enough to have a grenade on your hands with the poor quality stock cast pistons.

an AFPR is going to drop your static fuel pressure (for the larger injectors) which hopefully your stock computer can idle them at, and the RRFPR has more headroom to allow for fuel delivery.

if you had HPTuners, you wouldn't need to drop static fuel pressure (but could) to help control a larger injector.
