Well me and dad finally got the motor swapped out today and the one from the red car is in. Got the PCM reflashed for the S/C calibration for the 5spd. Fired it and it started, so that's good news. The idle is a little rough and it's throwing a fuel trim code PO171. The tank had about a little over an 1/8th of 87oct left in it and we put 3.5 gallons of 93oct in it. I doubt that was the reason for throwing the code, but we're just about stumped as to what it could be. Maybe a vacuum leak somewhere? We got all the lines hooked up. Any ideas? I've been without boost for way too long
Check fuel pressure....I was throwing a P0172 fuel trim rich. The fuel pressure was 8psi to high.
I'll remember to that out when we head back to the shop. Thanks.
did you pull the O2 sensors out at all when you did the swap?? did they see any antifreeze? and did you install the 310cc injectors
The code is PO171 system too lean bank one, so maybe you have injectors too small. the timing chain is off a notch, vacumm leak, or manifold (hot or cold) leak.
HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED
New O2 sensor and plugs and the car is running much better. I'll be going to pick it up from dad's in a couple hours. Thanks for the help guys.
Finally....after 8 months of no boost, it's back.
Fixed. Only problem I've noticed is that it acts kinda sluggish sometimes when pulling out. Acting like it wants to die...but when I think about it, my red car did the same thing.
Now just gotta get the Big Mouth kit painted and the hood and we're good to go....oh yeah, need to find some stock z24 wheels or a nice cheap set of 16's or 17's. Almost there.
