Hahn kit and oil pressure gauge
Saturday, July 14, 2007 3:55 PM
for those of you who have the hahn kit and an oil pressure gauge...which ports on the head did you use for each??

The hahn instructions call for the rear port on the driver's side of the head and so does the most credible (imo) post I've found about the install of the gauge <a href="http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=2&i=337960&t=324159#337960">

should I use the rear for the turbo feed and the front one for the gauge? or should I "T" off of the turbo feed fitting at the head?

thanks,
Matt

"T" off the rear fitting in the head. That is what I did.
If you need a pic, I'll get you one.

that would be great if you could...have you had any problems reading the oil pressure there?

Or do it smart and use one port for each one. Just places for things to fail.

Some of us have the #$^@ing annoying EGR Block plate which makes the 2nd port just about useless.

What's going to fail? You'd have a slight oil leak if you don't get the "T" sealed right. If you're using an electronic gauge, which most of us do, there won't be a problem putting a "T" in the line. You won't rob any oil from the turbo or engine.

More fittings just means more fail points. I try to keep fittings to a minimum no matter what system it is.
