installing water lines on turbo

Which direction does the water flow through the radiator. I am thinking about putting in some water lines going to the turbo to help keep the heat down so it can last longer.
Anyone else have this done? If so, pictures of where to tap into the system would be nice.

I have it done on my Saad TDO4 setup. I used the feed and return from the heater core. I do not have any pics at this time. I will try to get some up for you. As for flow, i don't think it matters, just don't have something flowing into itself.

I also have a saab setup! Do you know what size the bolts were that connects the lines to the turbo? what kind of lines did you use? Any info would be great because trying to drive to the auto parts place then find the correct fitting while the turbo is scalding hot is not fun.

I dont know the banjo bolt size off the top of my head.... the best thing to do is go the the local saab dealer and find the bolts there.

For the coolant lines themselves i used a modified OEM feed and return lines...the OEM saab feed ties into the upper rad hose and the return goes into a port on the tempostat housing the 2.2 ecotec don't have. I had the OEM feed but the tee is an 1/8 inch to small so i used the heater core lines. I hope that helps

I found the bolt size. It's 10mm x 1.25. I'm ordering them through summit racing. I'll have to check out the lines going to/from the heater core. That sounds like the best place, unless there is a place on the block that is easier...(like the oil tap on the head)

Yeah hooking up the coolant lines reduces the heat and also allows you to turn the car off and not need a turbo timer or have to let the car idle while you sit in it (ghetto turbo timer). Typically these connections would have ports on the block for the coolant supply and return but I am not sure about the NA eco block and head. Make sure you don't forget the crush washers when you hook these up or you will have a nice coolant mess.
