GM Ecotec S/C intakes... ( RDFABS lookin into production)

We know there is interest out there for you guys who don't feel like cutting up your old intakes and using rubber elbows and all that jazz... So we've thought about this long and hard and think we've come up with a killer offer.. We have not been able to find anyone close to our shop in Port Byron, NY to come forwards to let us get measurements required to start making these for you guys. So what were willing to do is if someone somewhere wants to come forwards and let us use their car to get measurements/ angles on a saturday, in return you'll receive the very first short ram version FOR FREE!!!

We're aiming to make them so we can still keep our CAI portion we've made universal for all our intakes still applicable with them as well for those who may want to upgrade down the road.

Correct me if i am wrong, but is the LD9 TB in the same location as the ecotec as well, so these unit could also suffice both S/C applications?

So if anyone is willing, there is something FREE in it for you.

the 2.4 points straight out at the battery

the eco point down at a slight angle , and sits higher up

im not sure if the tb's sit the same distance from the battery , and i can only give ya a measurement on the eco , my 2.4 has a proto type s/c from gm , so i cant say how close it is to the production units

Pretty much right off the NYS thru-way. Between exit 40 and 41

Oh! So are you going to make one to wrap around the battery and one that will go straight off the throttle body and into the fender (relocated/moved battery)?

I'm in either way as I really like the work you guys do!

Sorry too...I'm about as far away as one could get so my car is of no use!!

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

I think you should also make a short ram style intake, like the K&N short ram or the RK Sport one. I don't want a CAI when I get the s/c. I want to stick with a short ram just because it's easier to keep everything in the engine bay. I would definitely buy one if you made them or I am just gonna cut up my K&N short ram.

Basically, it'll look exactly like our current 2.4/Eco intakes (check out the pics on our site) but it'll be made to fit with the supercharger.

We'll do both. Since the wheel wells never changed in our cars, we use the same cold-air extension for all j-bodies between 1995-200X. What we'll do on the guinnea pig car is design the short ram to "end up" at the spot where our cold-air mates to it. That way, you can either slap a filter on the short tube, or connect it to the cold air extension.

We're def. willing to help out our J community, and make these to how you guys want em. We just need that one lone soul to make the leap out to our shop for us to get our measurements and then we can start offering them to ya guys.

But like chris said, we try to make all the short ram portions mate up to where our CAI extensions start so upgrading is quite easy, no need to buy a whole new unit.

The middle coupler would be excluded from this application as well. The upper one is where the CAI portion joins.

ALSO all of our products are made of 100% STAINLESS STEEL .... not cheap aluminum and won't corrode on you over time. Simple use of windex and they will clean right up to the shine we shipped them to you in.

you might have to cut some on the part attached to the ps pump stud , just in order to not make a super tight 90 bend

Cody, i may be able to do something for you. I have an 04 Eco I can bring up...however, getting the car from my friend between now and the time i leave for GA could be hard...

I will try my best and give you a call when you get back up north...She doesnt need the Intake So maybe we can work something else out...

Also how long will it take, not that I mind hanging out

Which install...the one we made for the dually? Yeah, I think it's safe to say that truck is probably one of our favorite projects. And it performs as great as it looks, too. We can definitely install another company's kit. It's hard to say a price going in when it comes to these kits (especially if it's a "universal") but get in touch with me sometime and we'll go over the details. I'll guarantee our price--versus the high quality of our work--would be more than fair.

From the time you roll in to the time we have the fully-polished short-ram on your car, you're probably looking at about 2-3 hours. I'd say 3 hours would be a very high estimate, though.

In theory yes. But we'd still like to make sure it would fit on this application since were trying to design this so it will bolt up to our CAI extensions. I should be getting my eco motor today hopefully and i ordered the GM charger. So if no one wants to make the drive sometime soon we will be able to get the measurements.
