the gm unit i got a quote from my dealer today for 2200 not too bad but how much are the under drive pulleys?
or spend the 3900 on the rsm or z-spec set up?
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE, i have already died once and im still here so lets just leave it on the track
ok where can i get the under drive pulleys for the gm s/c?
and what about the under drive pully on my crank?
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE, i have already died once and im still here so lets just leave it on the track
rsm... however their are some things you will need to do to make it be right...
after all its what i have... haha
horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, Torque is how far you push the wall with you
so wait a minute.... first you're claiming your making 350 hp with your rsm charger and 2.25" exhaust in the performance forum, now you're over here asking which charger you should buy?

no actually i want to know what the differenced is with the gm s/c other than its a roots style and what peoples opinion'a are between the two but im starting to think that the rsm isnt woth the $4000 although it makes a nice BOV between shifts

only yhing i know between the two is that the roots style are supposed to make more lower end power but lose alot in the higer rpm
where the vortec turbo style make more top end or so ive read from Supercharging,Turbocharging, nitrous by earl davis
i do feel a good high end pull but im only twisting to 6500rpm and dont see any gain to go to 7000 or higher
but i want to know would i be better off with the gm and say a 2.7 or 2.5 pully?
thats my question?

Let me make it real simple for you.
$ 1,600
You will be more than happy with the power you make overstock throughout the RPM range (even without a smaller pulley).
ok will the m62 bolt to the m45 manfold?
im looking for more that 12 lbs
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE, i have already died once and im still here so lets just leave it on the track
there is no m45 manifold
the charger and intake are all 1 piece
just curious have you been in a coma , or seriously sick ? for as long as you have been here , you should know 90% of the answers to your posts the last few weeks
m45 is full range boost with hotter temps, vortech is all 5k rpm and above
adding top end is great for a v8 but it doesnt provide anything on low end which 4 bangers lack to start with
Basically in a race the M45 will kill you to 5000 rpm and then you will have equal or slightly better top end but by that time you have already lost too much ground, unless your revving to 8-9000 rpm the vortech wont provide as much power
As far as other things go, the Vortech sound is not equalled by any form of boost in terms of awesomeness. Fuel mileage is also tons better with a vortech because its not crank driven theres less parasitic loss not to mention less air charge temp
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
that sound.... is awesome!..
i disagree with a MP-45 loosing ground top end. if the person knows ANYTHING about how to make power with a Eaton Twin Screw Supercharger, they will know watter injection is a very pivotal step.
as far as parasitic loose, it has NOTHING to do with where the belt hooks up to, it is still taking away power from the CRANK, but with the Vortech, there is less mass to move.
still

PLEASE learn the types of S/C first
Roots type and Centrifugal (not Vortech style)

I've had both. Eaton>vortech on our 4cyl's. Yes the sound from the vortech is cool, but if you're spending that kinda money for the sound, then you're a moron.

wanna race? all i got is a little ol M45. stock motor with 130K on it.
PLEASE.
Shut it. at least some people get off there ass
There are some sites that you may want to look at, but all it comes down to is Rotor RPM. my rotors are truning 17,000 RPM @ 6800.
or the same as if i used the 2.4" charger puley.
but i only see 10 PSI at the top of my RPM range. i expect this to go down with cams and head work. but we all know CFM> PSI right?
