hi everyone my name is steven! i actually got a 1999 chevy cavalier... i got an ecotec 2.2 engine in it , and i put a turbocharger on it! from now everything is clear! my problem is the same that next year, oil ring in the turbo! my turbo shoot lot of oil in the charge pipe and my car burn all that oil and it make a lot of smoke on idle and in boost!
i have a t3/t4 .63/.50 57trim turbocharge with no restrictor in it (when its new)
i putted a restrictor that i made with a 1/16 hole diameter ( 0.0625 )
so my question are simple if somebody can answer me!
1- what is the oil pressure in the head??
2- Do i need a restrictor on my turbo??
3- if the answer is yes , what should be the diameter of the hole for the restrictor?

I don't have any restrictor and it doesn't burn any oil but the thing is I have a GARRETT...
I think you need to buy a REAL turbo.
I had a XS Power and the charge pipe were full of oil too, now it is clean and dry.
I got a rebuilt garrett t3 60 trim for 400$ CDN shipped.....
Rebuilt T3 60 trim
Just make sure you have a good oil return line too....
What brand of turbo are you running? It does not say in your profile.
