oh yeah... that doesnt include spares, too much spent tuning, fixing breakage, a trailer to get the car to/from the track.

ight nothing as nice as you but im starting to slap out some money twards the turbo edition to the car...

all the parts for a 2002 Cavy LS Sport 5spd.

Forged eagle crank = 270 bucks (brand new)
Forged Eagle Rods = 230 bucks

W/ shipping added up to $535.98

Forged Wiesco Pistons = 330 shipped

Labor on the block = zero

Reason being i have a job in a machine shop, so i punched the block over .020, opened up the head studs for the larger ARP head bolts, Balance the crank/rods/pistons.

Other non boost iteams are
Tein SS Coil-overs
Eibach swaybars
Poly control arm bushings
TTR upper engine mount
poly lower engine mount
poly tranny mounts

John, If you're all about having a fast car, you didn't do badly. Thats in the ballpark of a Cobalt SS/SC isn't it? Overall, you didn't do too badly.

Oh to say how much i've spent so far...

My car brand new from Island Chevrolet: $15000 something...

What i have on already:
Bodykit, paint job, tail lights, light bulbs, sounds, strut bars, CAI, exhaust, License plate

About $3500

What i have spent but havent installed:

Turbonetics t3t4 turbo,
jdm intercooler,
hks bov,
injectors,
the rest of turbo stuff...

so it looks like most of the people with heavy mods are in that 10-12k area in motor work alone.

i dont feel as bad anymore

I have just about as much money spent in mods as the cost of the car, which was around 15 000 CAD... but I suck at getting good prices...

I'm actually just about to put a stop to the spending of money on this car, I barely put 3000 miles a year on it since I moved out and now live in the city, it's a plenty fun car already and I have bigger projects to spend money on...

with the cost of the car, im in for about $35k. unfortunately no real performance mods......yet

Re: ***How much is everyone into their car. the big Q***
Wednesday, August 15, 2007 12:39 PM
Lets see for me on my 01 Z24.

Car was $17,000 (this was what I financed, so I paid more)
Body kit I have $700 in.
Wheels $500
Brakes $currently $100, but have put about $300 into different brake set-ups
Suspension $340
Performance mods $2484 (this includes just recently getting HPT, and my Clutch, flywheel, and TG LSD)
Interior$450
Total in mods $4574 or $4774 if you count the other brake set-ups.
So $21574 in all, and $21774 with the other brake set-ups.
I truly do not think this is too bad for what I have in a car.
