2001 Cavalier SC questions
Friday, August 17, 2007 4:22 PM
Now I've been looking and searching and found some of my answer but not all so that’s why I'm doing this please don't say use the search button.

I want to do this as a nice winter project or spring one but need some answers first

1,Does GM still make the SC kit for the 2.4Ls,What does a brand new kit go for(have been told $1200-$2500)but need a real answer

2,What sites still sell them if they still make them...

3,Do I need to upgrade my fuel and ign system for this new SC or computer

That is all,Im just trying to figure out how much this really going to cost me and what I need to do to this engine before hand

Answers to 1 and 2

http://www.crateenginedepot.com/store/24-Twin-Cam-Super-Charger-12498660-P454C0.aspx

answer for 3. The kit comes with all fuel mods and different spark plugs. You also have to get the computer reflashed at a gm dealer. Not a big deal at all.

So that would be in US funds right??,but thats no big deal the Canada dollar is almost the same as the US now.

Did you buy yours from that site is it a good place to deal with

Now it said ,Manual Transaxle at the end of all the codes....will it work on a 4 speed auto also well or will it wreck the tranny

The reason I said that is I didn't know if they still made the kit so I thought I would have to find all the parts.

It is compatible with the auto. The sc kit part# is the same, the calibration ID part# is different for auto's and manuals, but you don't really need to worry about that. They will take care of that when the dealer does the reflash.

And you couldn't possibly searched all that well because all of your questions have been answered in the last month easily.

I'll sell you a used one, for much cheaper than what you'll pay for new. And I'll even install it for a minimal fee! I have a spare kit laying around and I'm eager to part with it.

Kyle, email me or add me to MSN. You should be able to find my contact info easily enough, it's posted right on this site. And it is in fact the charger from my car.

Chase, the reflash is most importantly to tell the computer there's now a 2-bar MAP sensor on there so it properly reads boost, to change fuel and timing maps accordingly.

M45 cannot be reasonably intercooled.
