Hitting 20 PSI Unintentionally With My Greddy Profec B Spec II

What the deuce is up with the limiter function on the Profec?

I was playing on the streets tonight with the local contingency of Skylines, Sylvias and Supras. I had heard the warning beep a couple of times, but I never really pay much attention to it. So when I was driving back home I was cycling through the menu and noticed that my peak PSI had hit 19.8, and I was on my LO setting all night. What the frick? My LO is tuned to run at a moderate 10 PSI (HI is set to 15), with a warning setting of 1 PSI over that (so the warning's set to 11 PSI). Now my limiter, for some stupid reason, won't set past 20%, when 0% is supposed to bypass the limiter, and 99% is supposed to kill all boost so you're just running off of your spring rate (I have a 6 pound spring). Even at a 20% cut, it should still cut. The last time I checked though, a 20% cut of 11 is not 19.8...

Yeah cool, I had no problems at all running that high, but, that's not the point. I don't want to be running that high when I'm rolling around town. What the crap would have happened if I was in HI? Would it have tacked another 10 PSI onto that and thrown me into the 25 PSI range (or into the critical failure zone, whichever came first)?

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, but after that crap, I'd like to have the limiter cut at least 50%...

I don't have the answer to your question, and I'm not doubting you at all, I'm just wondering where you live where these cars normally roam the streets?

Those are normal sights around here. Someone in my neighborhood just got an R33 skyline the other day actually.

I'm not doubting the guy one bit, I know the cars are out there. There's one or two nice Supras and a gorgeous blue R33 GT-R in my area also, but it's not like you'll see a bunch them around as common as you see Civics. He just made it seam like he lived in Japan where the usual crowd on any given day is a bunch of Supras and Skylines that cruise around the same place. Oh well..no big deal. Back on topic.....

For real? That actually kind of makes me laugh as I live in a Redneck city located in southern Alberta (2 hours south of Calgary). Hell, there's probably more right hand drive "tuned" cars around here than standard imports. Tonight I ran with an imported 300 Z (right hand drive version), Skyline (I can push an ass-load of boost and hold my own and then some with the imports, but this car is mental...), and two Supras (old-school and new, also a hella-ass-kicker of a car).

I'm still laughing at this... The population here is like 60-70,000. I was just at the shop today that imports them (they were dyno-tuning a Supra which was at 600 HP to the wheels) and there were about 20 or so similar cars in the parking lot, which are all for sale. This town is infested with them.

I tell you what, on Friday night (most likely), I'll shoot some video for you of me VS. these cars that "normally roam the streets". Then you can see both the existence of them, and the double takes when my Sunfire's BOV whistles at them, LOL.

Yeah I was for real. There's a lot of fast cars in this area, some really fast cars actually, just not a lot of Supras or Skylines. A lot of the guys around here like the big engines so you see way too many Mustangs and Camaros, a few nice 'Vettes, and even a couple supercharged Vipers that are putting out insane power levels. The fast imports are all Evos, STIs and extensively built Hondas. With the exception of some nicely modded VWs, Eclipses and WRXs, you'll see tons of riced out Civics, Ford ZX2s and V6 Mustangs that are neither remotely fast nor look at all decent. Like I said, I don't doubt that those cars exist around you, it would just be a nice change of scenery I guess from most of the crap that I'm used to seeing. Video would be nice though

Alright, I'll do my best man. I've been trying to tune the car as best I can to run at 15-20 PSI without leaning, so there's definitely some crap to be worked out, but I'll still get some shots of the imports out here in the prairies.

Yeah, no crap eh? (yes, I said "eh", you guys do it too, get over it... lol)

I was up there a couple of weekends ago for the Castrol drift event and the entire parking lot was RHD imports. It was easily 75% of the cars. All the cars in the event too, Skyline, Sylvia, RHD RX-7, etc...
