I would like to know if my gap ring is right for boosted application
90.5mm bore
first ring .018"
second .020"
Location: Montreal, Quebec
I forget
It .005" per inch for the first
and .0055" for the second
Location: Montreal, Quebec
I always thought the first ring had a bigger gap and the second ring got a tighter gap. Reason being is the 1st ring sees all the heat and the 2nd ring sees less heat.
Also gap is dependent on what you plan with the motor.
Top ring is tighter.
Stock top ring is .006-.012
Stock second ring is .0098-.016
Check your paper work for your pistons. Each manufacturer is a little different but I think the .005 first and .0055 is a pretty good rule of thumb for a boosted application.

I use the spec that wiseco give me for
Street-Moderate Turbo / Nitrous : top ring .0050” 2nd .0055”
I ask only to compare
