Opinoins on using a DSM SMIC

Ok guys heres the deal, my girlfriend last year wanted to help pay for some of my turbo parts that I need and to be cute she bought me a intercooler off of ebay. The intercooler is a 1g DSM SMIC, no a few people I have talked to say that this will be fine and the one person i've talked seriously about this with, Ken5.7, says that it'll be great and it worked great for his t3 on his 2200. Now I will be running the same turbo he was only on an eco motor, its a Garrett t3 turbo w/ .50 a/r and .63 a/r. I was going to run this w/ 2 inch hot and 2.25 cold side i/c piping. The car will be tuned w/ the GM S/C Reflash. Do you think the SMIC is fine for say 6-7 psi on the street and 10 psi at the track?

Good to about 250bhp, so yes.

It's a small IC. Your easily gonna out power that core on a Eco.

What does the motor have to do with any of this?

Because he has an Eco and they seem to make a lot of power on low PSI because they flow a lot more air a lot more efficiently. For example I make 230+WHP on 8PSI. Put my turbo on a 2200 and I bet it wouldn't make 200WHP. Different motors need different parts for different power levels. That's why the motor makes a difference.

His turbo doesn't flow much more than the 16g which comes in the Hahn Stage 1 kit, and hes running low boost, I don't see how its inadequate.

I said he's GOING TO OUTPOWER IT EASILY. I didn't say it wouldn't work right now, but like most people with turbos, Anton will probably crank the boost a bit and once he hits 10-12PSI he'll be outflowing what that IC can handle.

It should work just fine, it just won't have the same bling effect of the typical FMIC.

Ehh not going for the bling effect, actually going for the opposite. Thanks for the response guys, i'm acutally going to be using this one for now for daily driving, then later on when I want to run a front mount i'm just going to extent the pipes to the front and run and intercooler w/ the inlet and outlet on the same side. Thanks for the responses guys, and if anymore people have a suggestion or comment let me know.
