NEED HELP! Hahn install
Sunday, September 09, 2007 2:55 PM
Hey everyone,

I just installed a stage II Hahn kit on my 02 cavy and I'm showing no boost and have no power...I checked all the piping and vacuum hoses and everything is intalled as the directions state except I have the FPR hose T'd off of the manifold instead of the hose on the compressor and I also have a boost gauge T'd after that before the BOV. The boost gauge reads vacuum (19 at idle) and will go up to about 1.5 when I blow on the hose. The BOV does blow off when I rev it, but like I said no boost or power...

Anyone have any ideas??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...I'm at a guy's race garage and I can't keep it here forever... Thanks! I can also be reached at 484-695-5383 if anyone is willing to give me a call

I just took it for another ride with the wastegate hose disconnected and the compressor port plugged...it did the same thing, once I hit about 3500-4000 rpm it falls on its face, no more than like 1 psi...I have a wideband hooked up but I'm not sure its calibrated right but it says an afr of about 9.x at full throttle and higer rpms...I also didn't mention I put in the Champion copper SRT-4 plugs gapped at .035...

Any help/suggestions would be great!
Matt: 484-695-5383

THANKS!

Make sure the actuator moves for the waste gate. If you know all the vaccuum/boost connections are correct. You may need to check that the turbo impeller spins freely. I would recomend calling Hahn Tech @ 630-553-1696.

At 3500-4000rpm you should be at full boost. I would not beat the car up to much. If your car doesn't make boost your fuel pressure will not go up. If you take it out with the fuel pressure gauge hooked up at max boost you should be at about 85-90psi. If your car only gets to about 55-60psi it may be making around 4-5psi boost. If it stays at your base pressure of 35psi = no boost.

This is all relative as long as you have fuel pressures set the way they want them. Maybe it might be a good idea to hook up your FMU the way it tell you to. I have my car set up exactly by the Install Manual....no problems.

the one coupler that we couldn't quite see popped off.....now my fuel pressure is pegged on the gauge at full boost which is only 7 psi and the needle valve is all the way out...I'm going to hook the compressor back up the way it is in the instructions and see what that does...

thanks

hooked it back up like the Hahn instructions (the BEGi instructions say the manifold among other differences from Hahn)... had V8/dirt-racing guys helping me, after a few blunders from the Hahn instructions, we lost faith in them for a while (while they cursed turbos and praised V8's)...everything works fine now thanks for responding Brett
