I was wondering if anyone here can help me?
Last week I purchased a GM Supercharger kit .. installed over the weekend ... took it to my local dealer to have the VCM recalibrated .. the dealer is telling me Techline customer service needs a red decal with a GM authorization number before they can release the calibration code .. I don't have anything of the sort .. the kit was brand new , sealed and never opened till I got it and there was no red decal or tag inside anywhere .. I even talked to the guys at crateenginedepot, which are EXTREMELY helpful but they never heard of this either.
Well the dealer can't do anything and my car has been sitting there since yesterday morning.
Have any of you ever had this problem ?
Thanks in advance for any advice

This is news to me. I would try taking it to another chevy dealership if they will not call back the tech line and try again to get the reflash. Either way do not worry there are plenty of people who have HP tuners and could install the gm reflash if all else fails.

FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
I am located in south Louisiana not too far from New Orleans
I've dealt with the techline several times and have never had that question asked when I've called for a reflash. Weird.

Its a Tech that doesnt want to be bothered with it. Techline never asked me for anything like that. I even did one that had previously been done but the reflash "didnt take". Go to another dealer.
the thing is .. I can take it to another dealer .. but at my local dealer there are two different techs involved plus the service dept manager which I happen to know personally and that's why I don't believe they don't want to be bothered with it .. Techline is insisting that there should be a bright red tag with a GM Authorization number on it and they even claim it starts with a zero .. without that Authorization number they won't give the reflash code to the dealer .. they even tried giving the part number for the 5 speed manual 88960485 but that's when techline said it's not that .. the number they need starts with a zero ..
I am so frustrated with this .. I just thought maybe someone else might know something .. maybe techline is confused .. maybe they are looking at the wrong supercharger kit or their information is mixed up .. maybe its someone new .. I don't know .. I am just trying to find answers
That is why I say have the dealership keep calling the techline. There is no way they are going to speak to the same person each time they call the techline.

Wade, thank you! You have been a great help!!! I will definitely call them!!
I finally got my car fixed .. it turns out that Techline support had misinformation as they assumed just because the newer superchargers for the cobalts require the authorization codes that all of the kits do ( not sure why, but at this point it doesn't even bother me anymore).
I even got a call from a guy at GM trying to get to the bottom of this, apparently because we ( the guys at crate engine depot, my local dealer and myself) caused so much of a stink trying to figure this out contacting all sorts of people ..
now my control module is properly programed and my newly boosted car runs great!!!!
Thank you all for your suggestions and help!!
Glad you it taken care of and thank you for sharing what the snag was. This post may help someone in the future.
