MAJOR BOOST PROBLEM PLZ HELP - Boost Forum

Ok i finally finished my turbo setup. went for a test drive. car wouldnt make boost. at all. stayed in vac. found out my acutator was bad got that taken care of . started going into it jus a lil. and as soon as i push the gas over half throttle the car started sputtering . so i let off. i figure maybe plugs? or not large enough injectors . so i went home checked my plugs they are all fine. they are ngk tr6's gapped it 35. so i pull my rail out and put in my brown tops. and now my car wont run . it hardly idles. it goes put put put. really slow. so i turned my afpr down its down to 28 psi. i did not install my fmu. had my stock o2 sensor in the pipe and it still wont run i took it for a drive it pops and sputters and will not go at all . i bought a aem wideband amnd need to know if i can use it as my primary 02 to the comp. and i need to know what the hell to do with getting it to run.

Can't use the AEM in place ff your stock O2 sensor. I guess some other sensor can emulate a narrow band, but i remember reading something about our stock O2's using a higher voltage than they can emulate.
That wideband is designed to be using strictly for tuning, so get an extra bung welded in your downpipe, and then see what your af's look like.
yes my cel is on but it will never go out ive eliminated my egr. unless i get hpt which i do not have money for right yet idk what to do. and my problem with running 2 o2 sensors is my stock one will not work. i need a heated 02 sensor . i got one off a 99 gtp and nobody has the wiring diagram to wire it to a cav. i need some major help with this thing

i have no way to check . no scanner my friend has a boosted civic he said his can would pop and sputter really bad under boost. until he changes his plugs to a different kind. but i jus switched thes to the tr6's cuz i heardthey are so good for this.

correct there is no 02 sensor at all in there

i dont know how to hardwire my heated sensor in there i can find a diagram anywhere on here. theres all diagrams for a bosch universal. the gtp has 2 dk brown 1 tan and one purple . i need to know what to wire them to

yeah that sensor is one of the sensors that feed the computer data so it can judge how the car is running and adjust injector pulse etc.... so the car will run. Kinda important.

listen to what we are telling you. Put the STOCK o2 back in, and have a bung welded in for the WB.

i wired up my heated o2 sensor i think i did it right but im not positve. the car runs now . i just cant take it over 1/4 throttle with out it sputtering. i need to get my wideband in there to see whats goin on fuel wise.

if i put my stocko2 sensor the car falls flat on its face. i tried it, it would hardly run. this is why i did the heated swap . i just wish someone would be helpful enough to try and see if i wired it correctly .

i have no pics but i can tell you which wires went where
its a sensor for a 99gtp ac delco
and my car isa 97 Z24
dark brown------- dark brown on rear sensor
dark brown----- black on rear
tan---- tan on rear
purple---- stock 02 sensor wire.

I still don;t understand why the stock O2 sensor won't work. If it worked before you boosted your car, you might have killed it when you took it out of your old header. If things keep going wrong, you might want to try picking up a new stock O2 sensor and putting that back in.
What do you have in your car as far as the turbo kit goes?
no the sensor would not let my car run before i bosted i had majorcold star t issues it took me sometimes over 5-8 min to get my car started i changed out my sensor 3 times thinking maybe i just had a bad sensor all 3 did it. i spoke to a few on here they told me to check if it was the cold start issue dealing with my 02 sensor if i disconnect it it will start and run fine it will just run extremly rich. i did and it worked great. now that im boosted i need an o2 sensor bc my larger injectorsa are jus dumping fuel in my car. so i in turn have a heated 02 sensor put in it. i believe its wired correctly the car har been running the past 2 days so im guessing i did it right. i just want to double check to see if i did it right. kinda covering my ass so i dont blow well over a grand in parts up.

I would guess at 1/4 throttle you are starting to build boost??? Did you put the FMU on yet??? I know the other day you still had not installed the FMU. Without a way to increase fuel when boost starts the car will fall on it's face.

no i didnt install it im not going to im gettin hp tuner next week . im just going to finish my exhuast and clean up my engine bay until it comes in. and the o2 sensor works. fyi
