Auto transmission turbo?

I wanna get a turbo kit and rebuilt my engine on my 1997 Z24 cavalier 2.4 but i have a auto transmission do u guys think i can get decent power on my car like that or what else better do u recommend. Let me know if any info please.

you can get the same power out of an auto as you can a manual. might wanna rebuild the tranny too. with tranny cooler

just as said above, you can get the same amount of power. just a little tougher since you have to fabricate the charge pipes yourself and if your gonna want to run too much power then your definitely gonna want to build up your tranny a little bit. tranny cooler, lsd insert and tuning the tranny with HP Tuner would be a good start, also a stall convertor wouldnt hurt

my 4 door 2.4 used to be turbo....but now its NA....it can be done, just have to have custom charge pipes, and a custom down pipe.

i found it really easy to do my turbo setup, even being on an auto. really straight forward

oh no custom!

Get the auto tranny built up with a nice stall converter, and BLAMMO~ Boost right off the line beeeyotch!


-Trailblazer SS - not so custom 6.0L - custom intake - custom tune
- (1) 2.4L on an engine stand (1) blown trans (2) good quad trans (1) eco trans = party

i got boost off the line with my stock convertor, but i could only launch at like 2200rpm

My 2200 auto is boosted with a 3400 stall. Go for it, definitely
