I would like to up my boost to 9-10psi but I can't see spending the money on an electric for 3psi. I've looked on Ebay....so many choices and I'm sure most are junk. Can any one point me in the right direction of a good reliable manual controller ?
I posted a thread about this earlier this month..from what ive seen an heard the turbo xs manual controller is a good buy. There is two options..i understand the more expensive one is to help with boost spikes. But not bad for 100 bucks.
keep in mind that while you may only want 3 psi over stock, many electronic boost controllers allow you to control how fast boost comes on as well as control spiking, which is inherent to MBC's....
You'd be surprised how much a profec B speeds up spoolup as well as smooths out any potential spiking....
Take it from a guy who's run both.

WOW good info...im looking into a MBC as well. i thought XS power was a crapbox company (well their turbo's are from what ive heard)
I run the greddy Profec B and I love it. Spool up is very quick and I haven't had any issues with boost spike.

If the Profec makes that much of a difference in the performance of a turbo.....that explains the
$ PRICE $
Do you think finding a used one is a wise choice?
What did you guys do to plug the vaccum coming off the compressor housing? I was just going to clamp on a small piece of hose with a bolt clamped in the end of it. Should I just run that to the controller motor rather than pulling a signal from one of the charge pipes?

Mine runs from the outlet of the turbo to the controllers valve and from the valve up to my wastegate.

Thanks, I was wondering if there wasn't a reason I could do that, less work this way and shorter lines.
