Well I just installed the turbo on my 98 2200 sunfire. Everything runs good however I can't get any actual boost. Both my gauges, one is teed off the fuel reg line and one off the compressor housing, show no boost. The throttle reference shows 10 vacuum but will rev up to zero, the compressor shows a constant zero. Also the BOV it's doing anything which I guess is expected since there is no build up in the intake to expel. I'm running a t3/t4 with 60 compressor trim, Greddy style BOV, tial style wastegate and a manual boost controller. Any one have any idea? I mean I spent 8 months researching and building this but i can't figure it out Any advice will help!! Thanks!
you need to run a boost leak check first of all, just to make sure that everything is on tight and not slipping. Look through all of your intercooler charge pipes to make sure they are all tied in good. and are you running a boost controller, or just a wastegate?

did you upgrade your map sensor so your gauge can read boost?
make sure that you use the vacume line off the fpr and put the gauge 1st off
Thats why JBO is the best!
fast answers!! I have a mechanical gauge that is attached to the FPR line. I guess next weekend the bumper comes off... again lol. Thanks again guys I'll post some numbers if this fixes it!
Have you actually driven the car or are you just revving it up in nuetral trying to make boost???? You have a pretty big turbo, too big to spool out of gear, if you're just free revving the car try to make boost that is probably the problem.

Yea I did take her up and down my street figuring maybe she needed some real action to build up. I drove her hard with no results in the boost department
how many couplings do you have on your charge pipes?

That's gotta be one of the funniest things I've read in a long time in the boost section.

It would have to be a huge boost leak to not even be able to build 1 psi. I'm thinking either your wastegate is stuck open or you turbo took a @!#$.

Your profile states your car is an auto... Try brake boosting it and have someone listen for the leak....

lol I have quite a bit of couplers in the charge pipe... I'm betting one of them is the problem. For now the wastegate is not venting to the exhaust so I can see that it's closed. I knew that when a full turbo kit only took me 11 hours that something had to be wrong lol and that included welding a downpipe... I should have figured.
Well I'm going with the rest of the guys in thinking boost leak would have to be HUGE to not read anything.
I'd check EVERYTHING as far as lines and such.
And does anyone else have a problem with running a tee off the FPR line? The telltale sign of a bad FPR is it will leak past the diaphragm into the vacuum line. If that line is teed to a gauge in your passenger compartment you have a potentially dangerous situation. Not to mention a screwed up gauge.

With a lot of couplings in your system you could have one that is not even hooked, run through everything... i deal with boosted cars a lot, but not normally j-bodies (yet). but when i work on SRT-4's i find huge boost leaks that leave the boost around 2 when its supposed to be around 14.. so a boost leak is possible...

Are all your vacuum lines in the right location? I know on my bros turbo dode it had the same problems and it turned out being a vacuum line the was in the wrong spot. Check your vacuum lines, also see if your BOV got stuck open somehow.
