my oil pressure right now, with a rediculos tune, is hovering at
60 psi cold start
30 -40 on warmup cycle
then a bout 20-25 on crusie
that seems normal except 20 -25 seems a bit low for crusie.
also, Im using a crappy mechainical oil guage from pep boys, and am taped into a t fitting that is plumed into the side of the head. one way guage one way oil feed.
any one eles.

sweet. thats good to know
Im not sure how accurate the guage is, but if theres more then one person out there with the same reading then Im a bit aliviated.

seems about the same as my 2.4.
my eco was the same, with the Autometer fitting tee'd into the plug bung on the side of the head.

Now, mine is way higher.
At 3000 RPM my gauge (Glowshift Tinted Series with line going right to adaptor for oil filter) is at about 80psi or so.
Cold starts its at 100psi
At idle, sometimes, when stopped, its around 25-30psi...Hrmmmmm, mine seems way higher than everyone elses....but as long as it only read 0psi when the car is off, I'm not scared at least
Let me know what you guys think

I think the 2.4 runs on higher oil pressure then the ecotec does.

Get the reading from the cam housing and it will be a lot lower.
I'll chime in too to give everyone something to think about... my oil pressure (01 Z24) is 80-90 cold start up on a glowshift electrical gauge, 25 psi while cruising and 12psi at idle (yes i know i hate to think about it) this is on the factory recommended oil type 5W30.... i'm going to be putting 10W30 in it my next oil change to see if it makes at difference at all.
I run 5W30 Mobil Fully Synthetic oil. I doubt that this would make a difference, but I guess it could since it is a much higher grade oil than that of standard oil???? Maybe???
Where do you guys mount your adaptor for the oil pressure? I thought it common to mount it by the oil filter, perhaps I was mistaken.

For a 2200, using an Autometer Sport Comp electronic oil pressure gauge:
Cold start up - 75 psi
Full temperature idle - 12-13 psi
Full temperature at 3000 rpm - 60 psi
I get around 50 psi cruising between 2500-3000 rpms (at the cam tower) on the highway. It's really low when the car idles after it has warmed up, though.

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
Now I see a couple of people saying:
Get the reading from the cam housing and it will be a lot lower.
Are there any pics out there of this? Do you use adaptors? Just curious as to how everyone is getting their oil pressure without the oil filter sandwich adaptor...
Thanks guys!

The "sandwich adapter" is to extend (and in some cases relocate) your oil filter, which is nowhere near the cam tower. Some people "T" off the hole on the cam tower with just a brass fitting you can find at any hardware store, so that they can use both the new oil pressure sensor as well as the stock one. Others just screw the new one right into cam tower and leave the stock sensor unplugged.
I believe the hole in the cam tower is 1/2" NPT, but I'm not positive.

2200 W/ royal purple 5w30
Cold- 60 psi
Idle- 40 psi
Driving- 20-25 psi
Seems pretty close!
