*FEELER* NEW HIGH PERFORMANCE ALUMINUM RADIATOR
Wednesday, March 05, 2008 9:40 AM
I live in Buffalo NY and I contacted a local custom radiator shop for a quote on a full aluminum radiator for a cavalier. I got a quote of $400 with a 2.5" core without fan mounts. This is considerably less than the griffin radiators than many people are buying on here! The radiator is about 3/4" thicker than the stock one, but the difference can be made up where ever you would like, towards the engine, towards the front, or split the difference. Im thinking about getting one with my tax return, but I just wanted to get a feeler going and maybe set up a group buy if people are interested, this way the price will go down even lower. When I buy mine I will get some pics posted, but contact me if you are interested. Below is the contact information for the radiator shop if you want to call and get information by yourself!

$400 without fan mounts eh? How is that considerably less than the prices in the Griffin GP? Unless they can come way down on prices for a group purchase I doubt you'll get any interest.

Well its a 2.5" core. Griffin is only 1.5" core with fan mounts for a manual is under $400 and an auto was $400, but i think 2.5" is waaay overkill IMO. They give you the option for SPAL high flow fans as well, and with the griffin and SPAL combo there isn't a need for a 2.5" core.

I'm not really an expert about radiators but wouldn't that mean that the Griffin uses two 1.5" cores?? You can tell from Darkstar's pics in the GP thread that the Griffin radiator is a lot thicker than the stock one.
