I was wondering if an intercooler is like a muffler or tail pipe in the sence that...
Most intercoolers i see are 2.25" in and out...i am planning on running 2.5" cold side and 3" hot side but finding a ebay intercooler with a 3" is hard. Will it flow only as well as the 2.25" or cause its pressurized it doesnt matter?
Just get a 2.5" in and out and run your 3" hot side using a reducing coupler.

Why such big charge piping?

If anything, it should be the other way around - 2.5" hot side (turbo to intercooler) and 3" cold side (intercooler to TB). You'll be just fine with 2.5" piping all the way through. Find one that has 2.5" inlet/outlet.

Just grab a 2.5" ic, you'll be fine with that.. You don't need 3" piping.

woops i worded it backwards..the reason for 3" to the tb is caus i have a 75mm tb and its about 3.5"..just wanted to match the sizes better
i would do 2.5 cold side, and then expand it to fit your tb, don't run full 3 inch

I say 2.5 charge piping. My 3800 Turbo is getting 2.5 charge piping and that thing will see north of 400hp. So there is no need for 3 inch piping on an Eco.
