I have been reading a little bit around here with the supercharger/turbo installs. My goal is to beat either my step mom, my dad, or one of my friends.. my step mom has the supercharged monte-carlo dale edition. My dad has the 01 mustang gt, and my buddy has an 03 tiburon gt. the monte has about 240hp, mustang little less than 300 i think.. both are stock.. and the tib has about 180 stock.. I want to be able to smoke the tib. and i would like to beat the monte and would like to atleast keep up with the mustang. I have an 03 eco with 66k on it. My only concerns are how many miles the car has.. it also has the stock clutch. It is a standard. I love the s/c wine but don't know if the s/c can bring me to my goal.. I am just looking for your guys' help.

Also this is my DD and my only car.. I Can't efford to have a blown up car.. I dont have a big budget as I would be taking a loan out for this stuff.
I was really thinking about buying a celica gts but I might just keep this as I cant afford to buy a new car.

.... you want to take out a loan to s/c your car....
The supercharger should easily get you where you want to be. It should get you into the 14's with just the stock sc kit. That would easily beat an 03 tibby. The sc kit is kind of expensive but it is very reliable.

If you got a nice intercooler and bigger injectors that m62 eco would fly
first off, "sikcavy?" lol
second, taking out a loan to pay for mods is not a good idea. that's just not smart
the top one you linked to is the kit for the 02 ecotec. for some reason, pace hasn't changed the price of that kit to reflect the changing prices of the others. the second link is the 03-05 ecotec kit. the only difference between the kits is that the 02 kit comes with the necessary parts to convert the 02 fuel rail/lines to the 03 style. everything else is the same between the kits.
you can bolt on the kit, get it reflashed and it will be 100% reliable. you can have someone tune it with hpt and as long as they know what they're doing, it will be just as reliable. if you do purchase the kit, i'd recommend a h/e setup as well. there is plenty of info that has already been posted about h/e setups, so i'll let you research that one. as far as a wideband, if you are going with the reflash, then it is not necessary. if you are having someone tune it via hpt, you will need one.
whats h/e stand for? just so i can look it up.

yep, most people use the stock cobra/lightning heat exchanger. there are a few of us who are using larger units from AFCO
so am i looking at like 5k for a full setup? or what??

the cars you mentioned are not hard to beat at all, a certain someone reeled in a mustang gt last night and mad someone mad lol
get the eco charger, upgrade your exhaust, intake it, change the pulley, run a HE and you should be golden.
i would try Crate Engine Depot, they have a cheaper price for the sc kit, or even GM Parts Direct
difference btwn the 2 kits are the injectors. the 02's injectors are 0.25" shorter than the 03-05 injectors.
