I have had my heart dead set on the Holset HY35 for the longest time
, but now I just ordered one of these instead
. I know the Honda's, Mitsu's, SRT's, etc have shown some pretty impressive numbers (not just max power) with the Bullseye 256 and 258's. I may also change over to a .70 AR Bullseye T3 footprint turbine housing as well, but I'm just curious if anyone out there is using the s200 with the stock twin entry T4 1.15 AR housing? I know this will force it to spool pretty late on a 2.4, but with their extended tip technology, it allows them to spool a little sooner, so I'm not exactly sure where that would put me.
The compressor maps seem to be in favor of a little higher pressure ratios too, but the islands are pretty wide and the surge line is pretty steep as well. The turbo is certainly a little oversized for my current application, which I am fully aware, so please don't give me any crap about matching. For the price I paid, I really couldn't turn it down. I expect the turbo to outlast my interest in J-bodies anyways, so it really doesn't bother me to go a little larger now.
The closest comparison to the ld9 I can find of an engine running an s200 is this srt-4.
Here are dyno results. I just don't know if that is a stock s200 they are using on the srt-4 or if it is an s200 mated to one of their custom smaller AR turbine housings. I guess I could email bullseye and find out...hmm.
Anyways, if anyone has any experience with any variant of the s200, I would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks.
