What brand of turbo are you using? How many miles are on it? Is there anitfreeze in your oil or vice versa?

The turbo is a new t3/t4 50 trim it is a JDM sport and I have an oil restrictor from inegrated engineering some one said that in the turning of the housings I may have moved the gap in the seal they said it needs to be up I have not checked this yet. no engine problems on the corsica

Ah...thats an Ebay turbo kit....

Thats your problem. I am sure the oil seal is blown. Thats why the turbo kit is so cheap....cause it sucks...

well it wasnt cheap and I saw and ad for them in Modified mag- a full page ad figured its okay how can the seal be bad i looked at it and there is no wear or any thing

See I had a JDM turbo from myEbay turbo kit that was my origional plan for my car....never went on mine, but I got the WHOLE kit for like $700-$800. The only thing I used was the intercooler piping, the rest I parted out.

The turbo I have now costs twice what the entire kit I bought in Ebay.

To answer another question from another post, I tapped my oil feed at my pressure sender on the back of my block. I drain it into the dipstick tube which was pre-bent from the once was Cavalier connection/J-tuners. You can weld a fitting of your choice onto the dipstick tube for easy drainage, but a pipe bender will work fine for modding the oil tube.

It really sounds like you have a blown oil seal in the turbo.

It must be a bad seal from the factory then since the car has only been idled like 3 times since I put it on- if it is the oil seal then can I buy a seal by its self? and if I can how much do you think it would cost? If you know where please include that too. I just dont see how it could posibly be the seal it is a ring only thing that could cause it to leak provided the seal is made correctly is oil pressure high enough to sqeeze by the seal. I think I have too much oil pressure. The turbo has just been put on, is it possible that it just needs breaking in-to seat the seal?
I took the turbine out of the housing and there is only one seal is the one right on the end of the shaft on the exaust side the only one on that side?

so the seal that is bad is the piston ring seal right?

Re: Corsica HELP ME!

um....not what I was thinking....

pull off your charge pipe, see if there is any oil in there...if there is turbo seal is bad....if not, then look somewhere else. Oil seals should not have a break in time....it should seal from the first second until it fails.

Did you prime the turbo with oil before you started the car?

oh yeah I primed the turbo before startup, there isnt any oil in the intake however the first time I hooked everything up I had the drain and the feed lines backwards-being that this is my first turbo install the person that sold it to me said it came with a feed line and I hooked it up as so. I realized after some research he sent me a drain line. I have it hooked up right now. The only thing I figure is too much pressure but I already have an oil restrictor. A guy told me that the gap in the ring seal should be pointed up to prevent oil from coming out. could this be a cause. Thanks for everyones help just work with me you guys have more turbo experience than I. I will check closer but not sure where to start. Maybe my feed fittings are to large?

At least post up some pics....maybe that will shed some light on the subject....

I have never heard of anyone hooking up feed/returns backwards before, what size return are you running? maybe its just not big enough....

Some pics would def. help out here....

I am at school right now I'll try to get some pictures but the drain is 5/8 or 10an. the seal on the exaust side did not appear worn. I know I sound like an idiot for hooking them up backwards but I thought it was a feed line. I know now Im getting my ducks in a row.

I had to make this dang downpipe and its a miracle it worked the first time. I am sure it will be fine Its not pretty but where the wastegate dumps is actually over the (down part) of the down pipe see the picture above that looks like a lower case "r" the wastegate gases should get swept away with all the other exaust (scavenging effect) or somthin' like that. it doesnt matter any of you guys with the same style manifold as me already have plenty of restriction look at that thang! no but exaust gases are usually under less than 2 psi evn with a restrictive stock muffler being that I have 2.5 inch exaust and an open exaust im not worried but thanks for telling me.

Re: Corsica HELP ME!

I would have done an external dump straight down. Rule of thumb is if you are re-routing the dump you want it to enter the downpipe at the LEAST restrictive point... You should have made that pipe enter the downpipe by turning towards the passenger side not away from it, that would have been better. Not saying what you have down now wont work, it will, I am just saying little things add up to a lot with boost...
