Ok so i got all of the turbo stuff in yesterday and drove it... no tune.... and its slow as hell even hitting like 6psi it feels slower than stock. If i get it tuned will it take car of this?
did you do anything to add more fuel to the system under boost? if its leaning out under boost you will lose a lot power.
I have a corsica( i know) I have a 2.2 ohv engine and a new turbo and oil is coming out of the exaust I have a oil restrictor and my drain is not clogged any ideas on how to fix this i figure I may still have too much oil pressure but I have the restrictor please tell me how you guys did your oil lines thanks if you want to you can email me at one_cody1@hotmail.com thanks if you help you can "save my life".

Um...why don't you create your
own thread instead of jacking Adam's?
If your running the stock fuel system stop driving the car now. Our injectors are really small and don't do well under boost get some 390s or 450s. A walbro 255lph pump and get that bad boy tuned crank upo the boost and your going to feel a huge kick in the pants.

Word. You could end up like me...
fortune cookie say: better a delay than a disaster
I have some 290cc injectors and a fmu... im waiting on the tune to put some 450s in but i was running stock fuel system for alittle bit. havnt drove it since i put the 290s in. what fuel pressure should i be around with the 290s?
Is it adjustable? I borrowed a friends Cartech FMU he wasn't using and just limped the car over to my buddies house so he can get me a street tune.
Hahahaha Notec, but it was insentive to build it even better.
yea its adjustable just havnt put the fmu in yet my friend has it and im still waiting on it.
Because these damn motors love boost stock!!!!!
I rode around a week with 12psi daily and 14psi sometimes 15psi spikes right before redline. With no signs of detonation in Texas humidity. I miss my turbo
. I'm telling you on my next build I'm going 250 to the wheels or bust on a stock bottom end and if I have too build it then 300+ shall be the goal!!!!!
Adam did you end up using your forged internals or staying stock?
i have the motor sitting in pieces in my room just waiting on the bearings to finish the build, but if this doesnt go right with the turbo set up ill be selling the turbo as a kit and the motor fully buildt. anyone interested?
It'll go right boost is all about determination and picking up pieces I can't tell you how many motors I've nuked.
this is my 3rd turbo set up.... i cant ever do it right without a oil leak.... where are you guys tapping your oil pans for the oil return lines for the 2200
about 2-2 1/2 inches from the top of the pan. What size are you running for a feed line?? what size for a return?? How many miles are on this engine that has boost on it right now?
96 Camaro A4 383 12.5:1, E85, Full suspension, Nitrous outlet plate kit, hooker headers and catback, 3800 circle D converter.
2002 Silverado LQ4 6.0 CAI, Long tube headers, 4" exhaust
1996 s10- 97 ECU and wiring, soon to be boosted daily driver.
its pretty small feed line, 3/4 return line 140k on the motor and if i tap the oil pan do i have to get anew gasket for it???
?
I put the oil return into the dipstick, seems to work like a charm, and i know a bunch of other people have done it as well.
it leaks every time i do that... i cant get it to not leak.
Yea then just tap the pan. It should be about above the oil level so anywhere near the top is good. Oil leaks are just one of those things that happens I have a buddy that tightens his oil lines every morning before leaving for school.

Suggestion: sealant.
