Would it be a dumb idea to supercharge my LD9 with 96500 miles on it???
I charged my car around that same mileage. I knew the history of my motor and I wasn't out racing it at redline and then I invested in HP Tuners. With all that in hand I was confident I could keep my car healthy and I have so far now with about 30,000 miles put on it. Just keep up on maintenance and proper tuning and all should go well with that kit, and it's a blast. Have fun.
I just put that kit on my brother in laws car that has 144000 kms and it runs great
Just keep up on maintenance and you will be fine

well wade's car blew up having been m45'd for like a year i think??? had less then 70,000 miles. but wade beat the PISS out of that thing before and after installing the S/C. (also could have been due to your aggressive tune???)
Rollin' on question marks since 07.

There was nothing wrong with his tune! It ate a rod bearing causing it to start knocking. This is the most common 2.4 problem out there. Reving it to 7000 rpm prolly was not the easiest on the bearings either.
I did beat the ever loving piss out of it several times daily for as long as I owned it. (since it had 24,000 miles- it was a recovered theft before that)
Long story short I do not think the supercharger had anything to do with starting to knock. I am sure it would have done it N/A. My only surprise is that it lasted as long as it did.
MAKE SURE YOU TREAT THE FULL LINE LIKE THE ADD LINE! IF IT GOES BELOW THAT YOU COULD LOOSE OIL PRESSURE IN HARD TURNS

Boosted at 98,500km, 5 years ago. Now at 182,xxx...and they haven't been easy miles. Several trips to the track, both straight and curved, daily pegging of the boost needle...and still quiet as a mouse!
But that's with oil changed religiously every 5k since day one, synthetic since 125k.

Yeah, make sure to watch your oil and keep a quart or two in the trunk. Seems to burn a bit more between oil changes than it used to.
eco swap plus turbo..... you will be very happy. going from a s/c 2.4 to turbo eco is a great experience!
If I was on a limited budget I might consider it, if I didn't have an eco sitting in the garage to swap in.
