Well i was just wondering what people had there settings at, to have something to start with...

i wanna run low boost at about 7psi and Hi at 11psi, but don't really know how to read the controller itself! Everything is in %

To many functions, its confusing!

I have the profec b, 12 'oclock on the low boost dial is about 11-12 PSI w/ my 20g. It could be different with yours just start out on the lowest boost setting and get an accurate guage. So far it has worked flawlessly.

Every car reacts differently to the profec B Spec II.... you're gonna have to tweak the settings until the car responds as you expect. The hardest part is understanding what all the settings do and which ones you can't "over-do".... it's been a while for me so I really can't help you but I've read a LOT of good how-to's on the web on how to set it up. Search it up on Google you'll find something on another forum. Lots of good info out there.

The instruction manual pretty much tells u how each setting works. if u dont have it you can get it off greddy's website. once you get the hang of how it works, its pretty simple and is great.

Yes the instruction manual tells you what every setting does... but it's not clear in telling you certain aspects like that you don't want the gain within a certain % of the pressure setting, etc... I read the manual 50 times and used the controller... and it worked fine for the most part, but then I went online on a few Honda forums and found some VERY good tutorials of how to set it up and why you can't do certain things with certain settings, which the manual didn't cover. After re-doing things according to those the car ran a lot smoother once it reached desired boost, with no falloff or spike. Its a very sensitive unit.

Either way, your best bet is to read up and try it out. Good luck!

Well i think i figured it out...

I put my low boost on about 35% with gain at 10% with startboost at around 20% i see about 6.5psi of boost! And from what i have seen the boost is pretty steady! And it actually pulls real fast cause the boost comes on alot quicker!

My HI setting i have it set at 50%, start boost at 35% and gain 15% and i boost peak for that was about 10.6psi! Which is good for me!! And that also seemed to hold pretty steady!

Im just curious why does boost come spool up faster with this boost controller. I know its true because alot of people have stated it but how would having this boost controller make the turbo spin faster then normal at the exjact same rpms?

The way the electronic boost controllers work is like this. when your boost source hose is hooked to the wastegate with no boost controller it will gradually start to open because of the set spring. well when you add ebc's then they will keep the wastegate closed until its time and then it will slam the wastegate open. thats y if you set the start boost to close to your set % then the boost will spike.

Yes, we understand this... But i think the question was, how does it make the boost come on faster (spool up faster) and stay steady?

Just because that i def feel the boost come on faster than what it did befor!

I understand the settings about the set boost and start boost being to close...

ok think of it like this say you have a 8psi spring and you want to push 15psi. so you hook up a manual boost controller. it will still gradually start to open the wastegate it just takes more boost psi to do get through the ball and spring in the boost controller. well then you hook up the boost controller it will keep the wastegate closed untill the second it has to open it and then it slams open. the longer the wastegate stays closed the more exhaust air is going through the turbo hence faster spool. wastegate springs gradually open and ebc's open the wastegates at a much faster rate so more air is going through the turbo once again faster spool.

oh and the start boost is actual boost pressure it tells the wastegate to open at, its not a percentage

Just wondering if this is still working out for you? I just picked up one of these units and plan on installing it this weekend.

I ran 10 lbs through my HAHN stage 2 and ran a 13.2 @107...

Only supporting mod was an exhaust cutout and drag radials...

P.S. Also ran 14 lbs and it went, boom actually it went

KERMUTHERFUICKINBOOM!!!

so if you just want "boom" run like 13.75 # but 14 # will give you a way better boom.

Well I just Googled "Tune Profec B Spec II" and found this kick ass post....How to Tune Your Greddy Profec B Spec II

I definatly will NOT go over 10 psi on a stock bottom end. This is my every day, all year round, driver.
What kind of drag radials do you use? Thats my killer right now 2.3 and 2.2 60'fts....FTL !!
What rpm do you launch at ?

Just for FYI, I tried the tuning tips from the Evo post and it seems to help. It took some time and alot of wot pulls but I got my Low boost setting to hold steady at 7.5 psi. I started to mess with my Hi setting on @ 10 psi on the way home from work. It holds nice untill about 5000 rpms and then dies down to about 8 psi. I adjusted my Gain level up another 5% to see if that helps. I guess tomarrow is another day.....
