so at this point the car is running slugish, and choppy at idle. When i remove the vacuum line from the bypass valve to the blower, the choppiness stops. When i go to reconnect the vacuum line, the car stalls out and dies. If i cap off the port from the blower that should go to the bypass valve, the car also stalls out and dies. If I reconnect the tube and restart the car, it goes back to running choppy. Like it's running real rich at idle. I am not running the 310's that came with the kit, because i bought it used and it came with some rc 310cc's. they are the fatter style injectors, and the fuel rail had to be ground down a bit so the injectors would fit alright. The injectors look similar to some ford browntops, but they are from RC and say 310cc on them. So i'm not sure if this is a fuel problem or something wrong with the blower/bypass.
So i got underneath and looked at the bypass actuator, and one of the allen bolts is missing from it. however it does seem to open and close fine. When the vacuum port is removed from it, it closes all the way it seems. when the vacuum port is connected, it seems to close and open fully when it's supposed to, but it seems like I see about 1-1.5psi more boost when driving around without the bypass valve connected
so first question, when you buy a replacement actuator, do they send the allen bolts that attatch it too?
second, it seems to me that it may be a bad injector, since it seems to be running rich at idle, but when the bypass valve is closed, and it's pushing the air the the blower at idle, it seems to be idling better.
help/comments appreciated. any other information needed, just let me know. the car is an auto btw
gas mileage has been sucking as well fyi even with bypass valve connected
How did you get underneath? Do you have the skinniest hands EVER? lol
didn't have to get my hands underneath. just had to see underneath to notice the missing allen bolt
