all i wanna know is if i can make a supercharger kit work on my 1996 2.4 cavalier , and if so what needs to be specially done reffering to my computer and so,i understand i need a smaller starter and already have that ,ready to go buy the block off plate for egr but wanna really make sure if i can or not
Physically you can bolt the kit on the car but you cannot use the GM reflash or hptuners due to it being a 96. You will have to tune the car with some other form of fuel management (safc, fmu etc.)

or just read the sticky at the top of this very forum. you cant miss it
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
1999 to 2000 ECUs can be swapped super easy then tuned or reflashed like the 2000+ cars. Not sure if the same holds true for 1996 -> 2000.

damn so that means i am going to have to do stuff im not very familiar with, would nitrouse do the job almost like the supercharger or theres no comparison
99 cars can't use the GM reflash without any issue though... the flash itself will work but the guages won't work properly or at all. The 96's are honestly kind of the unlucky in that they can't even use hptuners to tune with.

i had the GM s/c on my 96.
i had a walbro fuel pump, stock injectors/FPR, and a cartech FMU. i blocked off the EGR with the plate from GM. i cleared the EGR code everytime i started the car. i didnt have to, but i didnt want to look at a Check engine light.
It ran good, just the stupid EGR crap. I also ran some water/meth injection. I was happy with it at 5psi.
walbro pump= fuel cut under 1/2 tank for me.
