So I have an 04 cavalier...
Hahn racecraft tells me I am going to have to get my PCM reflashed...
Is my car one of those that will command a certain a/f all the friggin time...
They also told me becasue of my exhaust cutout I might need to port the wast gate on the turbo...
What they hell is that?
Anybody?
You dont know what a wastegate is? It is a valve that regulates the exhaust flow to the turbo. This makes the turbo produce only a certain amount of boost. If you run a bigger downpipe compared to your wastegate pipe (common to do) it will be more free flowing to pass through the turbo and out the cutout, than it would be to go out the smaller wastegate pipe which is restricted. A solution to this would be a short open dump wastegate pipe, rather than re-routing it to the exhaust!
I think all Hahns turbos are internally gated, maybe they are referring to the outlet elbow which connects to the downpipe?
As far as the ECU, you just need to find someone with HPTuners and pay them 100 bucks to license your car and edit a few parameters to make your ECU more boost friendly.

I know what a wastegate is but was unaware that you would need to port one...
