What kind of wheel spin do you guys experience with your Supercharged ECOs?
Right now I am spinning almost all the way through 1st gear, it is grabbing and pulling REAL hard, but the tires and breaking loose. That is with 19x8's on 215/35/19 General eXclaim UHP Z-Rated tires.
I have my other set of 19's w/ 235/35/19 Toyo Proxes T1-S tires, I plan on putting them on this weekend to save seom tread on my show tires.
So far this is what I have done for performance
m62 SuperCharger
3.0 ZZ Performance Modular Pulley
CXRacing Heat exchanger
Custom 3" Warm air intake w/ K&N filter
Bosch Water Pump
4-2-1 Header
Vibrant Hi-Flow Cat
2.5" Vibrant Mandrel Bent Exhaust
Jersey Devil's Eco Spark Plug Boot insert springs
The only reason I am asking this, I am wondering how the guys with lighter wheels get traction if I spin this much with 19's??
ease up lead foot
i cant floor it in first otherwise i wont get traction, so i dont really go into boost in first
12.33 @ 111.67 mph [Oct 2009]
Dyno'd on 08/02/09 - Mustang Dyno:
327.6 WHP 333.6 WTQ [10.1 AFR]
got an lsd in your trans??
That might help, or just insure you are burning both tires equally.
some normal tiers that can give and deflect some would help... a lot......
depending on what rubber you run with, wheel spin should not be that bad.

I have a 4spd auto with a B&M shift plus. It spins BOTH tires. I did it once to see if it would and I looked back at 2 equal length marks in my Credit Union parking lot.
Anyway, I'll see if I can get a video to show. I hope that the wider 235/35's will halp a little bit.
However I must say I love the 3.0 pulley.
the 35 series is whats killing you...
i bet you get more spin with that tire, then i do with my GTO even.......when trying to actually take off...

Don't get me wrong, IT GOES. I just hear the squeeling sound of the tires and wonder how guys with lighter wheels do it.

Sure it is not the tranny squeeling?

The black marks on the pavement and the smell of rubber tell me it is the tires.
ditch the low profile tires....

Some of the things you said made me ask. I understand the one in the parking lot. You mentioned that it goes, but you hear the noise. So every time you get on it it goes, leaves black marks, and squeels the tires, and smokes them? If you are smoking the tires everytime then it can't be going to well, and it is your tires. just because they are bigger and heavier does not make them hook better.

THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I AM AT WOT.
I don't drive like that all the time, I was seeing how fast it was wiht my new pulley and noticed that it breaks the wheels loose very easily.
so, get some wheels and tires that actualy help with handling.....

I ran up against the guy who traded me the 3.0 pulley for my stock pulley, I pulled away from him FAST! He was running the 3.0 pully with a Stock manifold and exhaust. They could not tune his car to run correctly with it, so he traded me.
He has 17's, I pulled away from him very fast.
I can get GREAT traction if I don't slam the gas pedal and lean into it off the start.
I only posted this to see how the guys with 16's, 17" wheels are doing as far as traction. I did not make thread this to start a pissing match. Hell, I'm building a show car. I just wanted some goodies under the hood.
Also Garsnow has a Redline and I know his Stock 17's don't grab very well and there is a WHEEL HOP issue when you launch hard.
The place where we went to get Josh's car tuned is the same guy who Tuned Ben Wenzel's 13sec N/A cavy, he was there when I was there. I got to video his car on the dyno and see what he is putting down to the wheels. VERY impressive.
I told Ben I would wait till he gets back from the Bash before I post his videos of his Dyno pulls and his HP #'s.
His best time so far was a 13.48 @ 104.95 I believe, well he has more HP now. Whoever goes to the Bash this weekend will see Ben run.
John Benham - I only had the Bra on for a road trip to avoid Rock chips, I don't usually have it on.
I need to go take a few pics and post em up of the new pulley and the Removal of the PCM and Cruise Control from under the hood. Looks A LOT nicer under there now.
I have the LS wheels and I have a terrible time with traction. Spin through 1st and spin when I hit 2nd gear
You said you had a video? Can i see? lol i think seeing a supercharged eco spinning 19's would look badass. Those 19's proboly are not the lightest of rims. im surprised your having such traction problems. id say its gotta be the tires. but if i were you id get a set of some more "track worthy" rims and Drag Radials for when you want to get serious.

with my 16" stockers squealing and torque steer is a pain(sometimes fun). but the 17s I have on now with some cheap wanli brand tires stick really good! still get a little bit of squeal but not enough to have a noticeable effect on acceleration and the torque steer is vastly improved.
I had 19's on my old turbo setup with 225/35/19 and had the same prob. On my new setup i droped to an 18 and got a stickyer tire (MT Sportsmen S/R) 26x8x18. Street traction has improved. And the ride is 1000x better!!!!! . There is enough sidewall to allow for some flex when im into it.....and some cushion over the bumps witch is good because our roads are the @!#$s lol !!!!!
