After months of on track and dyno development, Hahn's Sunfire SMASHES into the 10's with its first ever 10 second pass, clocked at 10.58 @ 139 MPH last night.
R/T ... .260
60' ... 1.712 <--- Not a bad 60', but the car is capable of low 1.6 - high 1.5.
330 ... 4.665
1/8 ... 6.982
MPH ... 109.39
1000 ... 8.954
1/4 ... 10.583
MPH ... 139.23 <--- I guess it's time for an NHRA license
We also managed to get video of the pass too!!
10.58 @ 139 MPH
Forgive my father for missing the time and MPH on the boards, but he is not the usual cameraman and as you can imagine he was ecstatic with joy!
All things said and done... the car has a few tenths left in her at the current setup. We've only got a few weeks left in the season and hopefully we can drop some tenths and maybe even give her some more power to do so!

yeah, i see 9's coming very soon. Turn up the boost ladies!
Congrats Adam...can we still have that sit-in and call it a celebration of 10s? LOL. I want riot dogs!
Can't tell for sure what the exact time was in the right lane but it was a single digit run. I've seen that scoreboard enough from that position to tell when theres a black spot where the 1 would be.

of course i prolly cant even come close to affording what you guys have in that setup....SICK work though guys....keep it up!
Heh, you might be surprised...while I have no working idea of your budget, this car was designed to show that an affordable Ecotec street/race car can be built for a fraction of the cost of the megabudget GM Racing cars.
Fact is, this car could be reproduced for no more than it takes to build a comparable Civic. And you won't have to endure the 'ricer' taunts at the local track!

That is @!#$ sweet!! Was this with nitrous or without?

I'm pretty sure all the runs now are with nitrous at some point in the run.

my carDomain updated 8/2/08 Boosted at B-day!
The car does run nitrous now but only a fraction of the time. We use it to spool the turbo and the nitrous is shut off at 22 PSI via DFI. Fact is, the nitrous sprays no more than 3 seconds on a good pass.
The car next to me ran like a 9.68 or something like that. Believe it or not, I had more MPH hehe

Yep, I think the only battle now for 9's is getting that power to the ground, not more of it.
...and I for one am anxious, yet still amazed at your current accomplishments and drive with this project.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats guys. This is DEFINITELY an accomplishment to be proud of.
Congrats man, I had a buddy at the track last night that called me when it happened. Congrats adam.
wowsers! congrats guys!!! unbelievable!
I'd like to extend my deep appreciation for the dedication and enthusiasm Adam's shown for this project. He's not only driven the car very well, but he's spent countless hours working on it, and let me tell you...this car has DEMANDED to be worked on...a lot! Taking a lowly 140 HP L61 Ecotec Sunfire and going where no one has gone before means a huge investment of time and effort. Surely, our company posesses the technical capability to take on a project like this and prevail, but it never comes without endless hours of dedication and determination. We've intentionally resisted the urge to just throw money at the car, for to do so would prove little.
Adam has worked, and worked hard, on every aspect of the car, from engine to driveline to electronics to...well, you name it, and he's probably been getting dirty with it! Along the way, he's been angered, bloodied, disappointed, exhausted...but finally delighted for his efforts. The sweetness of satisfaction wipes away the pain well.
As a father, I could not be prouder. May all fo you who have, or will have, children, be just as blessed.
