I put the 3.0 pulley on and looked at the belt that zzp sent me and it is 6 rib which doesn't match with a/c crank etc....what did you guys do to get this to work?

cut one rib off the belt. It doesnt look like it will do the job but when you cut that one rib off it will fit.

Does the zzp adjustable tension work on our cars?

Not sure, I just use the cobalt tensioner.

Yeah. Best way to get a hold on that thing is with a pair of vice grips. They will make your day alot better!

do you just pull it up b/c it looks like a shock

no, clamp it to the black square part of the tensioner, right at the top, and push it towards the rear of the car.

that would cause the shock thing to reduce in size if I could even get it to move at all.

Lol, Let go of it. I must not be understanding what it is you are asking.

I am not very smart so it could be a combination. I don't understand how it can loosen or tighten since the thing doesn't budge unless you unscrew it.

Its like a shock. It moves up and down under different throttle. You'll need to pry it down.

so it will self tighten? any other options beside trim the 6 rib belt to a 5 rib?

Yeah its self tensioning. Dont really see any other way than trimming the belt

there is a nub on the tensioner...

I have uber long wrenches, I fouind one that fit, and push like hell twards the firewall... it will releave tension, till you let go...

I was hoping not to trim the belt but if that is what must be done that is what must be done.

sorry to hijack but if you go down to a 3" pulley, do you have to use a smaller belt or can you use the one that came with the s/c kit?

I cut my belt about 5000 miles ago to go to the stage 2 GM belt. I have had no issues, but I am not running the zzp tensioner.
