Is this OK?
Friday, November 21, 2008 9:35 AM
I recently installed the GMPP charger on my 05 cavalier which is an automatic trans. Everything runs good and its loads of fun, my only concern is when it shifts from 1-2 and maybe all the shifts it goes clear to like 6500rpm. Is this ok? Because when it was stock it would shift right at 5800-5900 as supposed to then with my K&N it started shifting about 6000. I got the GM reflash so I would assume that is what its set at, but just making sure.

Thanks a lot

Shift points are dependant on engine load, throttle position, and other factors. The harder you accelerate, the longer it waits before upshifting. It's possible that the reflash has changed the settings for what rpm to upshift at, in certain conditions. As you just installed it, I'm assuming you're honking on it real good just about all the time...I know I did!
