Hey guys i need a little help here, i found these for sale and i dont know if these are the right ones that i need, can someone tell me if these are the right MAP Sensors?

Do i need 2 bar or 2.5 bar?

Thanks guys!

MAP Sensor A (Front)

MAP Sensor A (Back)

MAP Sensor B

MAP Sensor C

MAP Sensor D

Is MAP Sensor D just the connect and the pig tails?

Here is a 3 Bar, will this be better for me?

2 bar = 14.7 PSI of boost and 3 bar = 30 PSI of boost right?

So should i get a 2.5 bar or 3 bar if i want to lower my pulley size for later?

Not a single one of those are correct....

If you look up a map sensor for a cobalt SS on any parts website.... you'll get the correct part your looking for.

GM - 12614973 (2.5bar)

Hehe, thanks cody =)

I'm Glad that it is 2.5 Bar, this way if i want to use a smaller pulley later on down the road, i dont need to buy another sensor

I thought MAP sensors are all universal?

Anyways, what about the pigtails? Should i order the pigtails from GM too? Do you have the part number for it?

Not sure if anyone remembers this or not.

Instead of Buying a MAP from a SS/SC Cobalt and having to RE-Wire and make a harness work, hear is an EASIER ALTERNATIVE.

Probably Less expensive.

My Supercharger came from the 05' SEMA Cavalier.

It was Still a Proto-type at the time. They did not offer the kit for sale till spring of 06' I think.

ANYWAY - My kit came off that 05 2.2 ECOTEC Cavalier

It used the MAP SENSOR that comes with the 2.4 Supercharger Kit from GM

It plugs DIRECTLY into the SAME EXACT HARNESS that is on the Stock Intake manifold. I used a T fitting to hook up the Vacuum line off of the Intake manifold to the Fuel regulator.

Then the IAT sensor is put into the HOLE on the Intake Manifold that is on the Passenger Side of the car.

Not sure why in the KIT for the ECOTEC that they did not do it this way and require you to make a TMAP harness and re-wire things.

PICS FOR EASIER EXPLAINATION:

This is my IAT SENSOR, this was an Extension harness to make the stock harness reach. You could just extend the wires.

This pic you can see the Vacuum tube coming off the Intake Manifold and going to the MAP sensor.

This is the MAP SENSOR with the tubing and Harness extension.

Close up of the Sensor with Part # on it

Finished product, you can see the MAP sensor between the SC and the valve cover, kinda hiding out.

You would need to plug the hole on your SC where GM mounts it.

Hope it helps a little bit. Even if you just get the Part # off the Sensor and do it your own way. This one works. I have a 3.0" pulley and a GM REFLASH. 13-14psi on average.

the part number for the tmap sensor is #88988320 i hope that helps

James (ROLN19S) (JuicyJ) i would of thought that the iat sensor would be better in the intake tube, is that where it was when it came of the gm car?

the map used with the GM s/c kit and on the LSJ is a TMAP , the "T" is temperature or IAT

so yes the factory reads the intake air temps at that spot on the #1 intake runner

Yea, only to confuse the @!#$ out of a confused kid, cause that is INCORRECT!!

He will need it yes, but its not the sensor....

ACDELCO Part # PT1863 More Info {4-WAY FEMALE BLACK #88988320}

I've just spent the past hour trying to figure this thing out for you, and I cannot find a straight up TMAP part number or a MAP with 4 prongs in it. The map on the S/c sits where our supplied expansion plug is, and they have an IAT sensor in the manifold where our TMAP actually sits.

Sooo.... My best option for you right now...follow what james did or ...

buy this...

Also, I just read in the owners manual...

"Important: The Product Information Label (part number
12593900) must be presented to dealer in order to receive
the new calibration."

You may be SOL getting the dealership tune.

So i can't get a dealership tune?

So youre saying just F@#$ this and forget the MAP sensor part and just use HPTuners and tune it myself?

I have a innovate wideband from my turbo project that i never sold yet, so i guess it is possible to fake a 2-bar and try tuning it depend on the Air Fuel Ratio, tune it so that the AFR is 11.8-12.0...

The only thing is that i tuned my car with HPTuners before when i had the turbo, but i just don't know if i did it correctly.. I mean, the car idle at 14-15 AFR and then when i accelerate, it goes to about 13-14 and when it is in boost it is about 11.8-12.0, i guess it is a decent working tune but i just didn't really trust myself that much lol..

So I can go ahead and buy a HPTuners and try tuning it myself?

Ahh this is gonna be trouble..

Yes sir. I installed the kit the Same way GM had it on the SEMA car. I had Re-flashed at the dealer and I have a Heat exchanger, Header/Exhaust intake and 3.0" pulley. 13-14psi and it works great.

the 2.2 eco s/c tune is locked , so once the dealer flashes it , HPT can not do anything with it

so in a way you are better doing the fake 2 bar and being able to tune it , granted there isnt awhole lot wrong with gm's , but being able to tune is nice

There is always the option of getting the reflash first than grabbing another ECM from a junked J.

Re: MAP sensor for supercharging my ecotec L61

I was under the assumption after reading what I found in the installation guide, GM wouldn't reflash the PCM without having the product information label to give to GM when they call them for the reflash.

I dunno... this is why I just bought the kit and saved myself a 1,ooo nightmares.

Yea, like having the shop forget to remove a part from the car.......

Re: MAP sensor for supercharging my ecotec L61
Sunday, December 21, 2008 1:34 PM
i would just call around to some dealer ships to see if any of them can do the reflash, some may some may not, this part number # 88988320 is for the tmap harness i made a mistake in my first post on here ididnt mean to
confuse you, you can get that harness from ur gm dealer but its like 120 dollars for the harness. like tinkle said grab a spare pcm and use hpt tuner if u get a gm reflash done cause the gm reflash will lock the pcm from being retuned.

Its in my car you brat... I'm shipping it to you tomorrow. We had the front part of erik's motor covered with the blanket all day while tearing off the exhaust manifold, i'm just shocked it never dawned on you or I when we were there..... ha ha.
