So does anyone how much power a 4t40e can handle? Is a 4t45e any better. I have access to either one, I wanna boost my 97 and the trans. is already pulled out i wanna do it right the first time.

Depends who you ask. Some people change them more often than oil filters, and some people beat them to hell and back with no problems.
