I have a new Vibrant 30x9x3.25 that's rated to 550 hp at the flywheel but I'm wondering if it's too small they also have a 32x12x3.5 that's rated to 875 hp at the flywheel. My thinking is the larger one would keep the iat's down where the one I have may be marginal, my setup is a fully built 2.4 bottom end with all W41/HO topend, Turbonetics 62-1/t4 turbo, Raptor bov and Racegate wg. Which Intercooler do you guys think I should use, my whp/wtq goals are to be in the neiborhood of Boosted 2point4 around 500whp/450wtq.
if ur goals are that high then u might as well go with the larger fmic. if u think u will come close to maxing the smaller one then dont bother with it. make sure it sees plenty of airflow though. i.e. dont shove it behind a stock bumper and block half of the surface area.
I have a 30"x12"x3". I am shooting for around 500-500. We will see if that gets me there. If not i will just go bigger!
Either those intercoolers have a crap efficency or they are drasticly underated, unless those sizes are including the end tanks.

Skilz the lengths I gave are including the endtanks, well it looks like I'll be getting the larger intercooler so I'll be selling the 30x9x3.25.
Icemike the company I'm going with is Vibrant and I paid $380 + shipping for the 30x9x3.25 and I think the 32x12x3.5 is $480.

I'd love to see pics of a 18" tall intercooler installed. Mine is 10" tall and it didn't leave much room to go any taller and still have good ground clearance.

Just the cooling surface on mine is 32x9.5x3.5. It was tested to 700whp and the cold side was dead cold still.
So it should be fine for me since I am shooting for about 600.
Thanks for the input guys, I think I'll stick with the one I have and if I discover my iat's are high, I can always get the larger one later, plus I'm going to get the Snow Performance water/meth kit which should help as well.
ha i have you all beat LOL... but i'm going to run the saab set up so no were near the power you guys are but im using a 28x5.5x2.5 from cxracing. yea i know its small... but i dont need much...
