I know this isn't the first time it has been brought up but the previous threads seemed to be lacking a conclusion.
Intent: 2.8 pulley & s/c cams (larger injectors up grade valve train meth retune and other support mods)
Question: When I build the motor for this set up should I reduce the compression and if so how much?
I wouldn't lower your compression for that. Especially not if you're using meth.
I wouldn't at all personally I would raise or keep it stock. Lowering it you might actually see a drop in power, I know a couple of ss/sc guys on the .net that have raised the compression 9.5:1 or 10:1 and saw huge gains. Now the on disattractive thing is your car just became a bitch to tune.
Example my buddy had a 200 civic Si that was turbo but when he found a good deal on a Type-R he jumped on it. Well he still wanted boost but more driveabilty so he swapped to a JRM62 kit and made decent numbers. well the timing belt took a crap so he swapped in another B16(stock compression other motor was lowered comp) and his power jumped up with a retune. Well I did some research for him and found the company LHT performance(they build some insane Hondas 300hp supercharged CRX and a turbocharged convertible CRX etc.) after talking with them he upped the compression and now that car is sitting at 250+hp(don't remember exact numbers).
Now the huge draw back is his was a HOnda and there extremely easy to tune and there are alot of really good tuners in most places. But when it comes to HPT and cavi's we can be @!#$ out of luck.
