Exactly what the title says. I know its great for roots sc setups but what about a turbo setup? Seen it done on plenty of other cars(evo's,dsm's,hondas, etc.) but never on a j. Do you feel its not realy needed? I would think it would help with kock/detonation over just cooling since thats what intercoolers are for. Any input is helpful!

Thats where my stuff came from. I have not used it for a while though. If I do reinstall the system and put it to use I will only be spraying water.
Look at it this way your intercooler can cool so much air which cause s the air to become dense but what if you could condense that air even more. This will do the same thing like it would on a roots type same principal but you can actually if tuned right less boost with more timing to create the same horsepower(but thats no fun).
You also have to look at its other properties it acts as an octane booster allowing more timing(more power), condenses the air even further promoting a better burn in the combustion chamber, and hey it basically steam cleans your engine. I've driven quite a few turbo cars with alky injection and never heard one complaint from the owner. I plan to run it with my saab set-up.
Yea I know how alchy works lol, I had a coolingmist kit when I had an m45 lol. Just wondering why I havnt seen it on any turbo j's, specially the higher hp ones.
I want to run one this season, just to be sure everything is nice and cool when its hot out. We will see if i have the funds to do so when its time. There are a lot of other important things to do...
Like a clutch lol

I was thinking about buying it just didn't know were to get a good priced kit, I'm running a saab setup but if it helps out I'm all for it
I remember I got my base coolingmist kit for like $230 shipped brand new from their ebay store. Simpleest install kit and everything you need including a tank. Ill prolly look into another kit when it gets closer to summer.

I have been watching them on ebay. Can get aq kit for about $170 plus $20 shipping. Only thing I'm not sure about is the nozzle to get.
FU Tuning
I will be using one this summer

cuz they don't need it.
one of the pros of a turbo system is better adiabatic efficiency.. therefore, heat isn't as much a problem as it is with a supercharger.
I'm also running one this season. Last season I found that I couldn't run enough timing to make me happy in high boost. I'm going to be using the kit with a 60/40 methanol/water mix that same as I use in my Cobalt. If you get the tuning in right and run the right mix you can get nearly as much timing as you get from 110 octane race gas from my experience.

sorry to bring back to the top. just wanted to state how i have mine setup. I have mine coming on about 15 psi. After a pull if you put your hand on the intake in the middle of summer it is ice cold. The motor has to love it.
15psi???Damn how much boost are you running?
Yeah i'll be looking into running one possibily this summer as i want around 14 or 15 psi maybe and do not want to run 110 on the car.
Quick question for you guys. I read that injecting water (tap water) will rust your block and stuff inside,
if you were to use distilled water, would you still have the cooling effect?
Distilled water will cool fine, you use that instead of tap/purified because of the minerals and all inside them.
