For the pulley sets which is for me? I notice some have 5 and some 4 bolts and i'm getting confused. haha.
Also is the tensioner listed in that link required when downgrading pulley sizes needed?
How much of a gain would be expected? I also have exhaust and intake done aswell if it helps.

Im pretty sure the only difference between the 5 and 4 bolt hubs is that the 4 bolt hub is the one GM uses in its stage kits.

Let's say i went down to a 3.2 pulley and got that aftercooler setup i listed earlier. This would cost probably like $1600ish canadian to get done (labour included). Will the gains be worth the cost?
Dropping down to smaller pulleys helps exponentially. Boost is instant (compared to stock pulley) and increases the total amount of boost.
I would do the work yourself but a smaller pulley and aftercooler are well worth the money spent.

May I ask what kind of numbers do you think i'd be seeing. I have an 02 eco gm sc with cai+headerback exhaust. Currently hitting 10psi with stock air intake in the winter.
this winter ive seen as high as 15psi on the 3.0" pulley, but on average i see around 12 to 13 psi. if you want reliability i would consider building the bottom end if you want more boost, might not be necessary but you might feel better

To me the stock pulley feels pretty slow compared to the 3.0.
I noticed a pretty good increase from the stock pulley to 3.0. I'm only hitting maybe 10.5 psi with it though. STUPID altitude
I have been thinking about changing from the stock pulley or moving on to another car this summer haven't really decided yet. Is 3.1 or 3.0 safe with stock internals and the cobra aftercooler set up? Unless my wideband lies the GM flash is pretty rich.

Im going to be running a 3.1" pulley and cobra H/E this summer and im not worried about my stock engine. My plans were to run a 3.0" instead of the 3.1" but i got a hell of a deal on the 3.1" pulley.

ive never noticed any difference lol. prob cuz when i bought my kit used it already came with the zzp 3.1 pulley. so right from the getgo ive had a blast driving it. but i did notice a big difference when i went from stock header 2 the lsj pacesetter and 2.5" pipe. so far no problems. dynoed 231.6whp at the bash last year. so if u wanna upgrade i say go 4 it. my mods are lsj header, 2.5" pipe, hi-flow cat, magnaflow muffler, zzp 3.1 pulley, cobra he, bosh he pump, aem cai, ngk tr6 plugs, gm reflash, the injectors with the kit cant remeber what they are i think 32# or 34#. everything else is stock
First: Heat exchanger set up post that evilmonikat had is a pretty good explanation of how to run an H/E set up. I followed this added my own preferences and it works just fine. What kind of power gain will you get with this? 5 to 10 whp this is based off results on a dyno not me guessing. What set up am I running? I bought an H/E cobra heat exchanger on ebay 70 bucks (go ahead and get a bigger one then this though IMO) I then purchased the pump from zzp from the grand am section and it was the pump 4 for 80 bucks then I went to auto zone and bought different hoses with 90 degree bends in them to cut and fit to the end plate for clearance and a bunch of clamps and some connectors to run the rest of it. how you run it all I guess is personal preference. I also used the option b tank for a reservoir some people do this others don't.
Second running the 3" pulley with hub with 1 step colder plugs and with the GM smaller belt you will have to cut the belt. (this belt is a SOB to get on) on the GM reflash makes about 230-238 whp on the dyno.
Third HPTuned and fuel pump makes 260 whp on the dyno
additional notes these are my other support mods that effect whp: I have stock internals, pacesetter header and borla cat back exhaust this is probably too small if you have a bigger exhaust you might see bigger gains. GM grand am cup car was running a 3" exhaust on a 3" pulley (food for thought) I also have a 62mm throttle body from SMG.
