Well I had a problem with my turbo not making boost, I changed my bov being the stock one on the saab garrett turbo to a greddy type s, and the turbo made 7/8 psi fine. Only thing is I wasn't running an oil restrictor so oil was getting past the seals but it was still making the 7/8psi and pulling good. Now I floor it and it only makes three psi sometimes less. Checked all my couplers and vaccum lines everything is good so only thing is that my turbo is blown. My wastegate makes a lot of noise it makes a loud assss whining noise I don't know if it may just be my waste gate. Does this sound like a blown turbo or can it be something else? Btw I'm running a saab kit on an 04 cav
pretty much exact thing happend to me.. its the the wastegate whinning its the turbo, if all your pipes are connected like you said and its still whinning start savin
Lol that's wat I figured kinda sucks since the turbo only has like 5 thousand miles, dumb of me to run it without the restrictor
Just got under the car and there's oil on the outside of the charge pipes and inside the compressor, so I guess I did blow the seals. Anyone have maybe an ebay seller or online store that sells the saab td04? Or anyone have one for sale?
Sweetness the thing is it never smoked at all from the exhaust I only found smoke in the compressor housing. I bought a so called magnaflow cat off ebay came in a blue and white magnaflow box, I've heard of these getting plugged up and messing up turbos so I think I'm gonna take it off and run straight through 2.5inch piping to my muffler and see if it makes a difference then
Anyone else have their cat plug up and their turbo not make boost?
When mine plugged up I didnt try and make any boost so I couldnt tell you how it affected the turbo. After three Magnaflow cats died on me I just decided to go without one.
Maybe that's wat it is either ways ima see if I can get another turbo and have my current one rebuilt and ported
