Thought I would share. Yep 15.5 psi turbocharged stock engine 110000 miles. building up the new engine. just thought Id see if the stock one could take it. GM did pretty good I would say. Forgiving calculations with engine geometry, corrected mass flow, holding BSFC at .450 and Volumetric E at 90% makes about 377hp to the wheels.
Happy boosting
Yes....MS is the bomb. None better IMHO. Nice work, sounds like a ticking time bomb, but I think you know that....have fun while it lasts and hurry with that motor build.

dang . thats crazy lol how long you been running it on 15 pounds ?
What turbo? unless it's a 35R or similar i'd say 377 is a pretty exagerated number for just 15psi.

Hurry up on the new engine lol when that rod goes through the current block you don't want it to hit anything else.

I haven't had it at 15.5 psi long. I have been running 10 psi for probably 50,000 or more miles. Just finally pushed it up there because I just installed my 95lb/hr injectors. The new motor build is in process, Its punched out to a 2.5L. I have been spending the last 2 years designing my new turbo system, fuel system and megasquirt. The turbo is optimized for great street and yields great high performance, comparable to a GT35R but just a tad smaller i did not want to double the cost just for ball bearings and a little more air flow at 6000 rpm and up.
The calculation might be a tad high given that there are mechanical losses and that this is not a perfect world also Vol Eff and BSFC are just safe constant figures. However I have compared my calculations to many dyno pulls and have been with in 15 hp.
I just want to share how robust these engines are given the proper tuning. It sure is fun to feel that much torque
Are you running the MS on fuel and spark or just fuel? Still running factory gauges?

So.... what turbo?
From his reg: turbonetics T3/T4 turbo
Btw, I wanna see pics or vids as well.

The engine is fully supported by MS v3.57, No stock ECU, no stock gauges.
The turbo is T3/T4 stage III .63 turbine, 57 trim 60 A/R compressor can make around 450hp with it. I can always upgrade compressors later if wanted.

wow that is awesome man, good work on the motor set up.
glad to see you are still around.
nice work.
Damn, nice work on the car man. There are a lot of people on the site that blast 2.4s, but you actually did it right. Well done.
Are you gonna post videos?

My feelings the same about the terrible flack that the LD9 receives in the advent of the Eco engine.
Nice going with the car so far and good work on the engine.
Car is sweet and love the custom gauges too.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
Jesus.. a stock 2.4 taking abuse like that.
Awesome !

i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
When my rod blew out my motor, i had to replace my starter because it cracked it in half. Just thought i let you know make sure you got extra parts laying around.
I cant wait to run ms with the turbo car. Everything looks good to me!!

eh... come again?
I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.
my bad, 2.45L had a typo, got in a hurry and left out the 4. Went with 91mm pistons.
I don't have any videos at this time. I have the pipes all off now to put beads on the ends, blew one apart. Got to finish wiring up the garage for the TIG. I am trying to set up dyno time after I get it back together. I will try and get one of my friends to come with to video. I want to see the stock motor put over 300 down before I swap it out with the new one haha. Hopefully it holds a little longer
300 is easy to do with a stock motor, as long as you tune it right.
