Well, I'm an owner of a 2005 cobalt ss. I switched over from the supercharger to a turbo. I'm still using the liguid intercooler and wanted to switch over to an air to air intercooler, elimanating the stock manifold completly. The only company i found that makes a new intake manifold is hahn (garbage). Then i stumbled upon www.vulcanturbo.com It's a local shop around milwaukee. They make one and it's about $250 cheaper. So I decided to go out there and see the shop. Guess who vulcan turbo is??? Brian from exploited.
For the guys he ripped off and need closer, His number is 262-436-1301. He is on Hyw. 164 in waukesha, right next to Action power sports. Good luck
be careful around here calling Hahn garbage.
I kinda figured he'd come back as another name eventually or bring exploited back. Back then he needed some work on his customer skills but his products were decent. After he started using a tig welder vs a mig and stainless steel... I think he makes pretty good stuff.
I had one of the steel/mig exhaust manifolds on my sunfire, it cracked and he sent me a stainless replacement which I never had any issues with. Regardless based on the pics on Vulcan's site it looks like nice work. If it is Brian, has anyone had a bad experience since he changed names? If not then he probably cleaned up his act a bit and hopefully can keep it that way.

Why? It's the truth. Anyway, I don't know anyone that uses his stuff. The quality looks good. He gave me a really good quote on the manifold and making custom pipes. But after reading the stuff about him on here and talking with TEAM GREEN, I'm not so sure it's worth the risk of having him work on my car. He did offer to let me have his mid 90's M3 as a loaner car though.
Name one bad thing about Hahn's products.

So why not be more descriptive on what you have against them.
I don't have anything from Hahn however I'm not going to just say a company is crap without any kind of explanation and you certainly can't expect anyone to bother listening to you without it. Do you have any personal experience with them? Is it based on your reading, if so post a link or explain.
Regardless the post isn't even about hahn. It's about Brian which based on the address I could reasonable assume it was him. I know he lived in Wisconsin. The post you linked I could agree was a bad product, at least his response was better in the past. Whether that explanation is true or not... who knows. As with everything time will tell. His exhaust manifolds permitting they fit nicely seem to be of decent quality though.
Anyone here actually have some of their products to supply some real input?

The more important thing to ask is how many people have actually had a bad experience with Vulcan? As far as I've seen, any issues they've had (very few and far between based on posts on the forum) seem to have been resolved pretty quickly.
Not to mention that their manifolds are VERY nice products. They've also been working hard and making new things for our cars that were not available before.
It's clear that they've turned around if they were originally exploited, kudos to them, and hopefully they continue to do a great job.

I'm still a little confused of why you called Hahn (garbage). Have you ever seen there web site ? All the magazine coverage and not to mention the plaque from GM awarding them on the accomplishments they made with the Ecotec and Cobalt performance. I have had a Hahn Stg II kit for over 2 years now, 20k plus miles, and NOT ONE PROBLEM.
As for Vulcan, I can't give my opinion on there Buisness or Products. All I can say is that he has responded to the CobaltSS.net post and is willing to make things right. That atleast shows good business morals.
I just went to there new shop last week to have them weld up some V-Bands on to my T04 turbo and they did a really goof job. I didnt even know that was the guys a lot of you have had a problem with. But he was a nice guy over all and ill keep doing busyness with him, and there shop is only like 15mins from my apartment to.
Thanks OneBadAzz and everyone else who supports us! We have been in operation for about 2 years now. We have had every single product shipped as promised and any issues we have ever had, have been fixed immediately. Honestly the posting seen on cobaltss.net is the first major issue we had ever had with a customers product, if you search around more, you will see that our products are actually used by A LOT of members here and on other forums and we are recommended by most members! We wish to remain as professional as possible.
A few things to know about our business before directly judging us:
1. Vulcan Turbo is not owned by Brian.... Although he is a part of the business, the majority of his work is wrenching on cars, helping develop new products for you guys!, and customer service, he does deal with customers on the forums often. We consist of multiple employees which allows us to offer such excellent customer service. We also find that Brian is extremely knowledgeable with most issues, for anyone with technical questions i encourage you to ask him! He has many years of experience with turbochargers and engines in general, and it was rather challenging to convince him to quit his full time job as a diesel tech to come back to fabrication work. I also believe he has learned a lot about customer service seeing the way he resolves customer issues as they arise and i thank him for helping our business grow quickly!!
2. Anyone that had unresolved issues with Exploited Racing, we apologize but we can not vouch for the actions of our employee and his closed business. Although i am aware of his previous business, i feel there is much more to what happened that most people know of. Fact: Brian took over $12,000 in credit card debt in order to pay back as many customers as possible, which he still pays on to date. The reason for the failure to deliver products on his end was the result of his business being robbed and him being unable to afford replacing the parts stolen. I believe the total amount of products stolen over 3 thefts was close to $20,000. This amount would be difficult for nearly any small business to recover in such a short period of time, which resulted in him closing the doors.
Also, the number posted above is our shop number... not Brians number.
hahn themselves are awesome, I spent an hour speaking with them at the bash, nice guys.
Never dealt with vulcan but from what I've seen they look a nice buncha guys with a good head on their shoulders...

I have met them both Bill and Adam Hahn personally. Both seem to be 100% down to earth genuine car guys.

definitely an interesting read in here...
i own an 'exploited' ld9 turbo manifold and the thing is just freaking flawless. didnt buy it from brian though...
i guess ill be the first to say it... getting brian working for you guys as a fabricator was a damn good idea.
I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.
I loled at the guy expecting a manifold that was
DESIGNED for the L61 to fit the LSJ perfectly. Rad hose is in the way? Get the Delta or J-body L61 hose that it was
DESIGNED to work with. Complaining about the center hole that was
DESIGNED for the L61's PVC(whatever) system not the LSJs. I feel like i should be bitching at GM for having to modify the LSJ intake mani gasket to work on my L61. Granted the T/B flange, powercoat, and the burred holes are valid concerns, but as Vulcan stated they were "dealt" with. The best part is the OP whining about
twenty($20) @!#$ dollars to send it back to Vulcan to get it fixed
FOR FREE.

i seen exploited brian from the start, i mean the start.... like the oven he found on the side of the road and still worked and he used that to powder coat most of the peoples kits out of his parents garage. I can sit here all day and type. seriously. Some pretty crazy stories.
I got along with him, his stuff got better over time that i know. Cant vouch for him now though sorry, i just knew him when he first started messing with car stuff.
I remember him telling me about a cobalt he turbo'd. Never seen or heard of it since then and it comes out years.... later. crazy.
good luck non the less.

Appears Justin is so upset because he claims Brian broke into his car..... Supposedly a team green member said he did it....
Justin also claims that a free intake manifold would make things all better... sounds like someone trying to blackmail a business for some free products.
seems like justin is just bitching cuz they wont give him any freebies....stfu, pay the $20 because they said they would fix it for
FREE. @!#$.
No no no... justin never bought anything from us! The thread he linked to is a completely different customer!
my question is who the fukk cares?
So long as Vulcan is not falling into the same trends as exploited did......WTF does it matter if he works there? As stated hes a good designer with lots of hands on expirience......whats not to like about that??
