question when does the boost actually come on a m45 charger
When you hit the gas??? Its not like a turbo that has to spool up.
i know that i just dont here any wine
i have mine on and tuned but dont here any wine but ive only had it up 2 4000 rpms. thanks black z 4 the great information.
also my fuel gauge quit working after the reflash and tune
It should produce almost max psi at any rpm but the more I rev it out the more I find it whines. At least thats what I find with my car. I've seen 4-5psi at 1800 rpm.
I have found that a stock pulley M45 usually does not whine much, the smaller the pulley the more it whines. mine with a 2.5 pulley sounds like a Cobra Mustang charger.
FU Tuning
Put the throttle wide open. Just cruising and slight throttle you won't hear it much because it only makes the whine when pressurizing.

thanks guys it does have the stock pulley so that might be the reason why i dont here the whine. just curious do you feel a real huge difference in low rpms? or is it just a slight increase in power in the low rpms.
Slight increase.. you realize the bypass valve is open at low throttle, meaning the supercharger's output air is recirculated back into the intake instead of pressurizing in the manifold.

k thanks ion thats what i needed to know.
when i had my s/c , i had the stock pulley and mine was loud. but i had every bolt on at the time done.
Your intake setup will have a huge effect on how loud the whine is as well as the pulley size.

What's there to explain? If you have a stock airbox obviously the sound isn't going to echo and amplify outside the car as well as it would with a 3" aluminum cold air intake. A smaller pulley spins the supercharger faster per engine revolution, making it whine quicker, and louder.

^ nailed it on the button, the stock air box will silence the charger. Put an intake on, and throw a smaller pulley in there and it shall whine.

gettin 2.5 pulley this week
ive personally heard an m45 whine so loudly it shrills out your ear drums.
believe me. with the right setup that thing can be deafening. and not just standing next to it either....

unless you got a full exhaust/intake and methanol injection ready and hp tuners i wouldnt really be dropping down to the 2.5" pulley and also be forewarned that some s/c's need the snout machined for the 2.5" pulley to have enough clearance
x2. Alchy injection and bigger injectors being a must if dropping to a 2.5 pulley. Though I think most newer 2.5" pulleys the snout doesnt need to be machined, thats with like older pulley boys pullies and what not.
i have a full exhaust and a co2 spray kit all i really need is hp tuners. but on the safe side of things how much smaller of a pulley can i put on and how much will it increase the boost? on stock tune with out HPT.
