Do I need a different belt for the SC if?

If I get a larger SC pulley for the Ecotec GM kit, will I have to swap out the serpentine belt with a larger one?

Or is it all slack adjusted through the tensioner or something else?

My wife's 2003 Ecotec 2.2 liter Sunfire:
* 2 1/4 inch turbo muffler
* 2 1/4 piping to a 2 1/2 inch resonator
* 2 1/4 inch catalytic converter
* 2 1/2 inch down-pipe
* a match ported 4:2:1 RK Sports 'clone' header
* an AEM true cold air intake NOPI edition
* 8 gauge ground wire kit
* Toyz front strut brace
* Vibrant rear strut brace
* and Russell stainless steel brake lines all around.

If you are wanting more boost you need a smaller pulley.I'm wanting to go to a 3.0 pulley and wondering the same thing.

Depends on how small you go. If you go any smaller than a 3.0" pulley you'll probably need the GM stage 2 belt.

Will the gm reflash be able to support a 3.0 pulley?

I was actually thinking of going the other way with a 3.10" or 3.25" pulley.
Would this require a different belt?

why? 3.1 is just smaller than stock size and its even a bitch to get the belt on.

They shouldnt, but i do remember a few people complaining about their belt slipping with the 3.0. The cobalt i have my "kit" from was running a 2.79" pulley and that would require the stage 2 belt, so im assuming that i have the stage 2 belt. It fit on my 3.1" with ease. I would swap pulleys first and if you think the belt is slipping then get the stage 2 belt.

Get the 3.1" pulley, i love mine.

The 3.0" will work with the reflash, anything smaller and your playing with fire.

3.0" is iffy with the gm reflash, you may burn out your fuel pump like i did since it was leaning out at the top end, thats with the 36# injectors anyway..

my stock belt slipped with the 3" so i got a stage 2, works perfect.

With the 3.1 pulley, do you need a different belt than what is on the stock 2.0 SC SS Cobalt?
