their $5000 eco motor I hope is built balls to the wall. Cause I know for $5000 You and I can build a sick nasty motor
LE61T PTE6262 Powered
with 5000 dollars and off the shelf parts you can probably have a 500+ hp set up, turbo system and all.
Why consider this?
For $5100 you get everything but the header. It also comes with a computer! Still kinda High, but good for lazy people that dont want to do any work. This would probably be more for a standalone set up for a sand rail or eco swaped car/truck.

Eh....that wouldn't be a 500+ hp car that I'd drive. Nor would it be 500 + hp for very long. Just a GOOD turbo for 500+ hp would cut $1.5k outta that budget. Not to speak of a good intercooler, manifold, charge pipes. That right there would put you at ~$3.5k at least and you still have to get gauges, ECU, motor work, bottom end, cams, ect, ect, ect, ect, ect. I might be waaay out in left field but I think a 500+ hp motor would cost closer to 10k for it to be done 'right'. Then you still have suspension mods, tranny, ect. to do on top of that.

Wiseco Pistons = $495.00
Eagle Rods = $350.00
Neutral Balance Shafts = $350.00
Hardened Oil Pump Gear = $365.00
Stainless Steel Valves = $200.00
Dual Valve Springs = $360.00
Comp Turbo Cams = $459.95
Darton Sleeves $624.00
Random Machining = $750.00
Total = $3953.95, then you've got the labor to put it together, 5k is pretty good for a COMPLETE engine ready to be installed.
PS - This is my EXACT engine setup, exactly what I've paid for everything.

4 Cams...32 Valves...5 Liters...This Could Get Fun!

I see your point, but pistions and rods will get you close to a 500hp bottom end. Add a strengthened valvetrain, big turbo (gt35r?) and fuel to support it and its not impossible. You have to shop around for manifold and IC/piping - look for a deal...

I don't see any of those particular quality parts listed on their site. In fact, it says nothing about a built bottom or top end at all. It says "production trim", and comes with various accessories. It does look taylored to those who do swaps, not those looking for big power. I would take
your 5g build over theirs anyday.
Damn no edit button.
I see their builds also come with clutches, so that is worth a chunk of change, but doesn't justify 5k for a "stock-ish" engine IMO

You know eve with 'a deal' as you say, just the parts will run at least $5k...then you still have to get machine work. Not to mention HG, studs, list is long as hell if it is to hold 500 hp for any reasonable amount of time. It WILL cost more than $5k....go try it and let me know, and don't cry once you get to $8k and you realize your not but 75% done.

Ok i'm not going to argue how much a 500bhp build costs. The point is that this post was made in the boost forum - but the engine sold is basically a stock eco with some accessories and goodies like an upgraded clutch and header, so it is NOT the ideal way to spend 5g's on a turbo build...

Sorry...my bad.
