Well I spent the last weekend getting a dyno tune done to my 03 Cav. That auto trans sure does eat up a bit of power. First initial run with the GM Flash @ 10psi it put down 189Whp 189 Wtq and ONLY because it was running lean up top. The GM Supercharger kit 36# injectors are not big enough if you run a smaller pulley. My injectors were seeing 127% Duty Cycle and were completely Erratic up top. SO I bought some Siemens 60# injectors and pig tails and im hooked up nicely now. On the GM tune My AFR was 13.1 @ 10psi so for those of you who are running the GM flash with a smaller pulley, its time to upgrade those injectors and get HPTuners. When it was all said and done, I didnt want to run my car on the ragged side so we kept it conservative. At WOT my afr were 11.5 which was really nice. Allowed us to throw a little more timing in. About 16* to be exact. Being conservative it put down 214WHP 213WTQ through the Auto tranny. Assuming 25% powertrain loss...270ish Crank power. Pretty impressive for a safe conservative tune. Thinkin about steppin the boost up a little or going with a TVS blower but dont think the tranny would hold. Dyno tune was done on a Dynojet.
how'd you throw in more timing w/ the gm tune? unless you've swapped ur ecu's and didn't mention that.
60's are overkill for gm tune as well. what pulley are you runnin for 10 psi?
tvs needs internals. would love to see one in a J, either built or stock (to see what happens on stock)

I had bought another ECU from the Junkyard in order to do the tune since GM was so kind to lockout the Processor. It wasnt even readable :-(. Anyways 60# injectors on my car are way over kill but I wont have to upgrade them again with future mods...since they are running at less than 50% duty cycle. When you are on a dyno 200 miles away from home, you buy what is readily available.

haha. ok thank you for clarifyin. had 60's but wasn't even close to usin them so tradin a friend that needed them and took his 48's. yes everyone knows the reflash locks the ecu.

Did you do a third gear pull??
2005 LS Auto (Blue)
-M62 Kit with 3.1"
-ZZP S3 H/E setup
-Pacesetter armor coated header
-Magnaflow 22" resonator (p/n 10436)
-Vibrant CatBack
-TTR Upper and Lower motor mounts
Yeah you only want to do a third gear pull on a dyno because of the 1:1 Gear Ratio. Kind of a pain in the neck with the auto.
Not bad numbers. I would love a TVS, but college needs to be over before I can build a motor.

Yep I think thats why I got 166HP with my second gear pull....that and I still have the stock manifold

stock exhaust manifold, meaning no aftermarket header

Thats gearbox torque. Remember that a torque converter mulitplies input torque 1.8-2.2
So you all are basically saying that the GM tune messes up your ECU?
Brian Toney wrote:So you all are basically saying that the GM tune messes up your ECU?
No it doesnt mess the ECU up. It just locks it. Makes it to where you cant go in and alter GM's flash because they sold this kit to maintain factory warranty and what not. They just make it so it isnt accessible.
Hey man, u selling ur car? I just saw it on ebay. Wanna sell any parts off of it?

Yeah alot of people were asking me some questions about it so I posted it on the boost forum with a link but one of the guys was an ass so it got flagged and I received a warning. Even though it had been up there for a few days and I was getting nothing but compliments. But whatever. His car looked like crap anyways so he was probably jealous. Anyways, no im not looking to part it out just sell it as a whole. Thanks man.
