possible to damage?

Well my Eco cavy has the GM S/C kit and a pacesetter armor coated header. The car has about 48K miles on it and has STOCK MOUNTS, there is a lot of movement! If I don't replace the stock mounts soon, would it be possible to damage anything? I'm getting TTR mounts pretty soon, money depending. I just did the header install last week and it added a "bubbly, maybe raspy" sound when the car is started and at low rpms.

Anyways my main question, is it basically common knowledge to upgrade mounts when you add the S/C kit and/or the header??

from what i understand, stock mounts are pretty hazardous to headers, since the play in them can be hard on the gaskets, i could be wrong, but thats what ive been told

If you put on a header, Upgrade the mounts unless you have a flex joint IMO.

The header on my LD9 HATED my stock mounts.. I had to be very careful in reverse because i could hear the header rubbing under the firewall as the engine torqued the mounts. This was with nearly brand new mounts too. I upgraded to TTR mounts and all was good

Poly engine mounts are never a bad idea, no matter what your power situation is.

Never a bad idea. IMO they should always be done before a header to avoid having problems at the joint of the header.

TTR mounts were the first thing i did to my car. Although with the stock ld9 mounts the engine could move almost 2"-3"

I've been running stock motor mounts since i got my car and have had no problems. I also installed a full exhaust including header about 70000km ago. and poly tranny mounts 15000km ago.

Have I been pushing my luck so far?

Still waiting on LZM's motor mounts to come in for almost 2 months now...
