ok so now i have the saab turbo setup installed, i seem to be having a problem creating boost.
under hard acceleration i can only create 2 psi and if i step on it in 4th it will create 4 psi
so i did a test tonight by pulling the line off the wategate to see how it would react, the results it would create 10psi constant.
has anyone had an issue with the wastegate.
It's crazy how many problems you guys have with these SAAB turbos! After working over two years at a SAAB dealer in the hayday of 2003+ 9-3's with the ecotec, the ONLY problem i've seen with the turbo is the stock recirc. valve diaphram tearing.
My guess would be you hooked up the vacuum lines wrong....
not sure how I can have the vac lines up wrong.
one is running from the nipple on the turbo to the wastegate
one from the intake manifold to the bov
but I am the one asking for opinions
your loosing boost through the charge pipes.
believe me it happened to me on my ohv turbo.
run the wastegate to the manifold tee it off to run the boost guage use a vacume cap to block off the nipple on the turbo.
you will see a ton more boost.
horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, Torque is how far you push the wall with you
Any truth to this?^^^most setups I've seen use the port on the compressor housing
problem is solved.
it was the waste gate was opening too soon, it was adjusted and now everything is fine

So, somebody messed with wastegate?
He adjusted the wastegate arm... I am assuming something like the picture above. Back up the 10mm nut a few turns, take off c-clip, then thread the "swivel bracket" more towards the compressor side (clockwise). His turbo might be different though.

awesome thanks for posting that up i always wondered how to adjust the wastegate arm
I think.... it can be done without removing the cclip. I cant remember for sure though.
