ok i got a 2000 sunfire with a 2.2l im looking to put on a turbo im only looking at running maybee 5-6psi boost nothing much just something to pick up some lag. i really wanna stay oil cooled. like a t-1 or t-2 turbo maybee a t-3 what is the maximum boost i can go without having to put in bigger injectors and so on and so fourth and does anyone know where i can get the turbo manifold for this eng.? all the info and help i can get i will appricate it very much. i tried searching and didnt really come up with to much. thanks in advance.
You would probably be fine with 5 or 6 lbs of boost, but may want change your head bolts, fuel pump, rising rate fuel pressure regulator and definitely a tune with wide band lambda sensor. You could get away with no intercooler, but it really helps reduce the intake charge temp and reduce detonation. oh, and retard your timing some.
If you go this far a small step up in the injectors would be a nice compliment.
